We set off from the farming village of Savigny and get familiar with our e-bikes on an easy ride along small roads before lunch in a quaint winemaking village nestled in the heart of beautiful vineyards. We may decide to stop in one of the famous villages such as Epesses or St-Saphorin before dinner tonight at a gastronomic restaurant near our hotel.

This morning we start directly from our hotel, biking most of the day on bicycle/pedestrian paths. Our ride will take us from lakeside view through a nature reserve and along the Rhone river to the beautiful town of Aigle and then back to the magnificent castle of Chillon. From there we will gaze at the Swiss riviera as we make our way back to Vevey by steamboat.

Heading into the Pays d’Enhaut (highlands) to the famous town of Gruyères (like the cheese), we’ll sample the region’s delicious fare before making our way to Gstaad. En route we will stop above the town of Château-d'Oex, in an alpine house (a former farm), that our hostess Anne elegantly transformed into a "buvette d'alpage" (a mountain pasture cafe). The stunning panorama will make us forget about the climb to get there. Before dinner at our hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, you can join us and a local expert for a cocktail-hour chat about Swiss history and politics.

Today we climb a famous Alpine pass, the Col du Pillon (good thing we’re on e-bikes!) from which we’ll take a gondola ride to the top of the Tsanfleuron Glacier, affording a stunning view of the Alps in all their glory. We’ll descend the mountains in time to explore Gstaad, try a longer ride to Lauenen Lake, visit a cheese cellar or enjoy the hotel’s spa.

For our last day together, we journey to the verdant pastures of the Emmental: a patchwork of farms and winding little routes. After a cozy lunch – which just might involve the region’s famed Swiss cheese – head into Bern to wander its charming pedestrian centre. Tonight we’ll savour a farewell cocktail and gourmet dinner at our hotel’s elegant riverside bar and restaurant!
After breakfast, we’ll arrange a taxi at your leisure to the Bern train station. It is time to say au revoir et bon voyage!

For most people, the first mention of Switzerland evokes its classic imagery: high snow-capped mountains, rolling green pastoral hills, wooden chalets, charming villages and bearded mountain farmers—and let’s not forget about cheese, chocolate and watches. Fortunately, this trip features all of the above. From the lakes and vineyards to the Alpine valleys and impressive mountain peaks, you’ll ride e-bikes over small, beautiful, winding and rolling roads, contrasted by changing and impressive landscape. Along the way you’ll meet some local characters, taste delicious cheese and wine, and become a chocolate connoisseur as you (somewhat ironically, given the setting) forget to check your watch entirely.
