Our Van Gogh tour will take you to the footsteps of this Dutch painter who spent two and half years in Provence.
Visit the key places of Vincent Van Gogh’s life in Provence, discovering the real canvases inspired from the landscapes of this region. Your English-speaking driver will show you the sites that enthused this remarkable painter. Start in Arles where Van Gogh arrived in 1888, and notice some of the places featured on his works, including «Starry Night over the Rhone», «Café Terrace at Night» or «The Yellow House» where he lived. You will also see Langlois Bridge in Arles. Later on, you will continue with a walk through the quiet town of Saint Rémy de Provence and stop at the very peaceful Saint Paul de Mausole, the hospital where the artist stayed for one year. He painted other famous canvases like “Irises”, “Olive Trees”, and “Wheat Fields” series of paintings, where the Provençal Alpilles range in the background. Take the opportunity to admire two remarkable and very preserved Roman monuments: the Mausoleum and a Roman Arch.
