Alpina Dolomites Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Walk to Lago di Fie where kids go for a paddle around the lake, while adults sip a local Kerner. Continue hiking to a modern gondola which will whisk us to our home for the next two nights. Enjoy a dip in the pool before we gather for a mountain aperitivo and dinner.

Day 2

Alpina Dolomites Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Today, the kids depart by mountain bike, making their way to a witch-themed river-side hike before heading out on an afternoon horseback ride. Parents begin the day with a chairlift ride up to a remarkable alpine. Stop for apple strudel along the way before continuing to a traditional hutte for lunch. Tonight, watch the sun set from the hotel terrace.

Day 3
Corvara In Badia, Italy

Jump on e-bikes this morning for a ride to Selva before adults bid farewell to the kids as they head to an adventure park. Meanwhile, the parents board a gondola and enjoy a glorious hike at the top of the Gardena pass, taking in the spectacular views of the Sella Massif mountain.

Day 4
San Cassiano, Italy
Hotel & Spa Rosa Alpina Breakfast, Lunch, Snack

Hike from Corvara to San Cassiano, via the plateau of Pralungià. Enjoy grilled fare on the terrace with a gorgeous 360-degree mountain view before visiting a wintertime World Cup ski run. Tonight you are free to dine as a family in San Cassiano.

Hike the Cinque Torri, set at the heart of WWI battle lines. Our route is gorgeous and the views stellar en route to the peak of l’Averau. Kids have the option to try out rock climbing on the limestone pitches below. Tonight we gather for a fondue feast and final evening together.

Day 6
Venice, Italy
None Breakfast

After a farewell breakfast at the hotel, we take a private coach to Venice airport in time for late morning connections. At the airport, you can also catch a taxi to the train station or a motoscafo (water taxi) that will deliver you to Venice in time for lunch.

Prices, Reservations and Payment

*Our prices are in U.S. dollars.

We charge a single supplement to individual travellers who wish to ensure that they have private rooms throughout a trip.

To reserve your trip, we require a deposit of US$1,000 per person.

The balance of your payment is due 95 days prior to departure.

If reserving your trip within 95 days of departure, full payment is required.

To complete your reservation, you must complete, sign and return a Traveller Information Form and an Acknowledgement of Risk, Release and Indemnity within 14 days of the receipt of your confirmation package, which will include these forms. These forms include additional terms and conditions of travel, including limitations of our obligations to you.

Prices for our ‘Bespoke’ trips are quoted as part of the trip design process, and are not final until final payment has been received.

Cancelling/Switching Trips

*If you must cancel your reservation, the fees for doing so are as follows:


270+  Full refund in cash of US$1,000 deposit

96-269  Refund of US$500, or US$1,000 trip credit

61-95  25% of trip price

31-60   50% of trip price

0-30   100% of trip price

Should you cancel your reservation more than 95 days in advance of the departure date, the entire US$1,000 per person deposit is transferrable as a future trip credit to be used by the same traveller towards a B&R trip departing within 24 months of the original trip cancellation date. This credit cannot be extended beyond 24 months but may be transferred to another trip only once.

Between 61-95 days prior to your original departure date, you may transfer to a different trip in the same calendar year upon payment of a fee of US$250 per person (this fee will be waived for Premier Cru & Grand Cru travellers). If you cancel this subsequent reservation, then the cancellation fees applicable shall be the higher of the cancellation fee on your original reservation or the cancellation fee on the trip to which you transferred.

Within 60 days of departure, the regular cancellation fees will apply.

The best way to see the world

This is our 10th Butterfield Trip. It remains the best way to see a region. Nothing beats vigorous activity during the day and luxury at night. Bespoke trips for a large group are cost-effective and totally your own. We loved our guides Denis and Jerome this month in Loire, France. Amazing trip. With B&R you have access to private homes, private experiences, and people and places you would never meet otherwise.
