Private Full Day City, Table Mountain and Robben Island Tour

- Visit the historic prison of Robben Island, (scheduled basis) which for some 450 years incarcerated convicts, slaves, exiled Eastern princes, lepers, the insane and political prisoners including Nelson Mandela (weather dependent).

- Ride the revolving cable car for a bird’s-eye view of Cape Town and the Peninsula from the top of the iconic Table Mountain (weather dependent).

- Lunch at a local a la carte restaurant. Explore the rich history and culture of Cape Town including Company Gardens, Castle of Good Hope, Grande Parade and the District Six Museum.

We depart from Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront by ferry for a 25 minute trip across Table Bay to Robben Island. Led by guides, some of whom were once inmates, the tour of this World Heritage Site, and South Africa’s most revered national monument, includes the Prison Block and the now infamous Limestone Quarry, where political prisoners were once forced to toil. It also comprises a drive around the island, with its breathtaking views across the bay.

We then return to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for a trip along the picturesque Atlantic Seaboard and lunch at a local restaurant en route.

We continue past sunny Camps Bay, over Kloof Nek to Table Mountain’s Lower Cableway Station. 1 067m above sea level, Table Mountain affords bird’s-eye views of both the city and Peninsula, as you explore its summit. We return to the city via the old Cape Malay Quarter, for a walk through the Company Gardens, a fresh produce garden for ships and locals from the mid-17th century, and now home to the SA Museum, Houses of Parliament, National Gallery and St. George’s Cathedral. From there we drive to the Castle, South Africa’s oldest building, with its large collection of Old Cape paintings. We’ll take in the nearby Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation on his release in 1990, and then move on to the District Six Museum.

NB. Visits to Robben Island and Table Mountain are weather dependent. The sequence of this itinerary may change slightly to accommodate the weather.

Terms & Conditions

CONFIRMED BOOKINGS Once a booking has been confirmed to us, we will change the booking’s status from “provisional” to “confirmed” on condition that you have secured the specified non-refundable deposit from your guests. The standard amount is 20% of the total land arrangement costs but this amount can vary depending on certain terms and conditions or party size. Please contact your journey specialist for details and please do NOT confirm a booking unless you have this non-refundable deposit, as you will become liable for cancellation fees if the booking does not materialize. In some parts of the wor ld it has been customary for the guest to pay a nominal deposit for a holiday, with a small penalty if they cancel. Wilderness camps are relatively small making the fixed running costs and resultant break- even occupancies extremely sensitive. The cancellation of a mere two guests can put the camp into a loss situation and therefore we cannot accept bookings made with a nominal deposit, nor can we allow lenient cancellation terms. Please ensure that you have the required non-refundable deposit from your guests before a booking is confirmed with us. We urge you to review the booking conditions between your company and your guests. We believe that guests who are firmly committed to travelling and are covered by full travel insurance in the event that they cancel for insurable reasons e.g. medical problems, should have no problems in committing to this non-refundable deposit

PAYMENTS Full payment from the guest is due eight weeks prior to arrival, after which our cancellation fees escalate in accordance with our cancellation policy. CANCELLATIONS OF FIT BOOKINGS Cancellation fees are levied when guests cancel confirmed reservations. The costs of the cancellation fees will escalate the closer the guests, cancels to their confirmed departure date. Our penalties escalate from forfeiting the deposit to payment in full as follows: • If a cancellation is made more than 8 weeks before departure the non-refundable deposit is forfeited. • If a cancellation is made between 4 weeks and 8 weeks, the deposit plus 25% of the price. • If a guest cancels between 3 and 4 weeks prior to departure, 50% of the price. • If a guest cancels between 2 and 3 weeks prior to departure, 60% of the price. • If a guest cancels less than two weeks prior to departure, the 100% of the price. Groups and Incentives have a different cancellation fee policy. This is available at time of quoting.

We had a wonderful experience. It's not hard to deliver a great experience when you're seeing animals roaming free that tourists aren't used to, but it is special when your ranger, tracker, and the lodge go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable and comfortable time. Would highly recommend Tangala!

Wilderness Safaris Botswana-Outstanding!!!

We spent an incredible week at two Wilderness camps in Botswana (Chitabe and Vumbura Plains). The knowledge of the outstanding guides ( Ebs and Chris) and the friendliness of the staff at both camps made the holiday very special. In the first 48 hours at Chitabe we were fortunate to see every animal we hoped to see ( and more)...lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinoceros, wild dogs, hyenas, hippos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, velvet monkeys, jackals, crocodiles, wildebeests, cape buffalo and numerous types of antelope and birds.
