Arrive in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas State and the hub of the whole Amazon Region lie on the Negro River, 6km (4 mi) from the point where the Negro meets the Solimoes River to form the Brazilian Amazon River. The city underwent a great development in the 2nd half of the 19th century when it became a rubber boomtown. It was the first Brazilian city to have trolley buses and the second to have electric illumination on the streets. Nowadays Manaus is a busy commercial center, after having been transformed into a Free Trade Zone in 1966. Take a tour the city and visit the opera house that was built in Manaus in the late 1800s.

Transfer from the hotel to Manaus Pier and board the Iberostar Grand Amazon. Begin sailing down Rio Solimões with a welcome cocktail offered by the captain. Enjoy the classical music during sunset on the Iberostar's top deck.

Visit the home of a Caboclo in the region of Lake Janauacá and experience the customs and culture of the local population. After lunch, try out Piranha fishing or take a boat ride in the Manaquiri region where you can observe the local plants and wildlife. In the evening you can take a nighttime boat trip where you will have a chance to spot alligators and listen to the night sounds of the jungle.

Wake up for a morning boat ride where you will be able to see local birds and the beautiful landscape lit by the morning sun. Continue with a boat ride through the narrow streams of the Igarapés and Igapós, an area also known as the flooded forest. Finish up the morning with a Jungle Trek where you can observe the activities of the local residents and fishermen of the Manacapurú region.After lunch take a boat ride through the region of Lake Janauari and have the chance to purchase locally made crafts before having a special dinner at the Kuarup restaurant.

Iguaçu, Brazil

Arrive at the Port of Manaus and transfer to Manaus Airport for a flight to Foz do Iguassu. Though not a big city, Foz do Iguassu is busy thanks to the many visitors that come to see Iguassu Falls as well as Brazilian shoppers that come to purchase imported goods in Ciudad Del Este, the Paraguayan tax-free city right across the border.

Depart from the hotel with, stop for a quick customs check, crossing the Tancredo Neves bridge over the Iguaçu River, which forms the border between Argentina and Brazil. Once in Argentina, the tour takes a scenic highway up the Argentinian Iguazu National Park. The tour starts with ample time to visit the Argentinian falls stopping at the Visitors Center and proceeding to the Superior Circuit (up-river cascades), to the Inferior Circuit (down-river falls). Then take the Ecological Jungle Train to the most impressive observation point of the falls - The Devil´s Throat.

Start your morning with a walk along the 1500m long paths that follow the cascades to the catwalk that leads close to the bottom of Devil's Throat where you will enjoy magnificent views of the falls. Then depart from the heliport located outside the national park for a 10 minute flight over the area. Then transfer from Hotel das Cataratas to the Iguassu airport for a flight to Rio de Janeiro.

After arriving take a tour of Rio where you will see the Paco Imperial palace, Banco do Brasil Cultural Centre and the Candelaria Church. Your tour continues through Presidente Vargas avenue and Tiradentes Square. Following the tour you will also get to see the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, Rio's aqueduct, Santo Antonio Church, BNDES and Petrobras buildings and Lapa, the most popular area for nightlife in Rio de Janeiro.

Finish the day with a drive through Flamengo Park where you will get to see the highlight of the tour, Sugar Loaf. This famous mountain is reached by a cable car 1,200 fight high. Looking down at Rio from the Sugar Loaf is one of the most spectacular views in the world.

Day 8

Begin your tour with a visit to Santa Teresa, a traditional district with a mild climate and big houses built mainly by English railroad managers. Nowadays, it has become an art center with lots of craftsmanship galleries and is the only district in Rio where you can find the famous trolley car.

You will also visit Corcovado Hill, located in the Tijuca Atlantic Forest, the largest urban forest in the world, where you can see the statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of Rio’s most famous locations.

Lunch will be at the Aprazível Restaurant in Santa Teresa. Aprazível means pleasant and this restaurant lives up to its name with its view of Guanabara Bay, cozy ambiance, and background music.

After lunch, you will take the tram downtown and visit the new museum "Museu do Amanhã" as well as the Museu de Arte do Rio.

Visit the Sítio Roberto Burle Marx estate, a lush wonderland shaped by Brazil's most celebrated landscape designer. Spreading across 35 acres, this garden resembles an 18th century farm and includes an outstanding 3,500 species of plants.

After lunch, have the chance to get to know more about the architecture of Old Rio by having a walk along Lavradio street. Houses on Lavradio street were built in the 18th century and here you will be able to learn more about Colonial Rio, the former capital of Brazil.
