These fantastic conditions led to the production of some of the best products in the world, therefore a big playground for foodies and Michelin starred chefs.
This tour will take you behind the scene of the Provencal farm-to-table lifestyle. Most local people pay a lot of attention to seasons buying their supplies to local producers on the weekly markets .
Provence is quite a spread out territory across the south east of France and can be split in a few different area. In my opinion, Les Apilles is by far the most interesting and enjoyable part of Provence when it comes down to combining food and wine.
You will start the day by visiting a reputed goat farm to introduce your taste bud with Provence. The cheese maker you are about to encounter is such a character, he created his farm on his own in the eighties and ended up being awarded the best cheese in France in 1998 !!! I KNOW !!!
This tasting alone will be a unique experience.
After a cheese sampling nothing else but a wine tasting could be the right move. Les Alpilles area nest a large number of top rated organic wineries. Based on your preferences, we will pick the most appropriate winery to carry on our gourmet tour and you will have the opportunity to sample reds, whites and rosés wines.
LUNCH OPTION
Now that your stomach is ready for lunch, I will suggest few places for lunch. Optional alternative will be to enjoy one of a kind picnic lunch in a vineyard, a bucolic way to enjoy our local gastronomy.
It’s time to make a short break with food and wine so we will continue the day we going to Les-Baux-de-Provence where you will visit the Quarry of light. This ancient stone quarry has been transformed in a unique place dedicated to art.
Carrières de Lumières
In the heart of Alpilles, the monumental "Carrières de Lumières" host extraordinary multimedia shows which are unique in the world. Culturespaces is organising an innovative and ambitious project with 4 key aspects:
New high-performance technological equipment for this outstanding audio visual show. Each area of the Carrières invites visitors on an extraordinary audio visual journey made possible by cutting-edge technological equipment and methods developed by Culturespaces and its multimedia partners: 70 video projectors, 3D audio adapted to the specific characteristics of the site, etc.
More surfaces used in the show to give it more breadth and extend this artistic journey.
Spectators are totally immersed in the image projected onto all the surfaces of the rock. We are now using twice the number of video projectors in order to cover twice the wall area. The ground is completely covered, too, and becomes a vast carpet of images.
This day will not be completed before visiting one of the top French chocolatier.
Expect mind blowing chocolate recipes such as Milk chocolate 40% and lavender flowers from Provence or Black chocolate and fresh basil.
