Day 1
Zhangjiajie, China

Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie, enjoy your day at leisure.

Day 2
Zhangjiajie, China
Pullman Zhangjiajie Hotel Breakfast

Begin your day with a visit to Yuanjiajie, part of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and discover the breath-taking view that served as the inspiration for the floating mountains of the movie Avatar. From the observation platform, take in the mountainous pillars and peaks, shrouded in mist and rising from the valley below. Some explorers described this view as an army of men, standing strong against the enemy. From here, make a stop at Helong Park to see the Bronze Statue built in memory of Marshal Helong, before making your way to the West Sea for more spectacular views. Gaze across the rocky peaks, all forming different shapes and covered in a lush green vegetation, giving the impression of a “sea of trees”. In spring or summer or after the autumn rain, low cloud rolls in, completely consuming the peaks. The view is so magnificent that it is known as the “sea of clouds”. You will have the chance to ride up in a cable car and back down in an elevator.Lunch today is under your own arrangements and after sightseeing, you are transferred back to your hotel around 17.00.

Day 3
Zhangjiajie, China
Pullman Zhangjiajie Hotel Breakfast

Begin your day, with a walk along the Golden Whip Stream. Some say that the scenery here is the most enchanting in the whole of Zhangjiajie. The stream was named after the 5.7 kilometer-long Golden Whip Rock that it flows past Its crystal-clear waters make it possible to see fish swimming by as you stroll.Enjoy lunch under your own arrangements (payable locally).Next visit Huangshizhai Village (also known as Yellow Lion Village or Yellow Stone Village), named after a huge mountain that rises up in the middle of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. There is plenty to see in this part of the park and it was said that Huangshi Gong, the master of Zhang Liang (an important adviser in West Han Dynasty) once produced an important elixir here. With an elevation of 1080 meters above sea level, Huangshizhai Village serves as a huge viewing platform of over 20 hectares, providing vistas over the peaked forest. From here you can see the Six Wonders Pavillion, the Star Gathering Stage, the Five Fingers Peaks, the Front Garden, Echo Wall and much more.Once you have taken in as much of this majestic view as you can, return to your hotel.

Day 4
Zhangjiajie, China
Pullman Zhangjiajie Hotel Breakfast

Today you visit Boafeng Lake (shared basis), situated in the heart of the Boafeng Mountains. The lake sits at an altitude of 585 meters and has an average depth of 72 meters. The water in the lake is pure, either collected from rainfall or the mountain springs.Enjoy lunch under your own arrangements (payable locally). This afternoon explore Tianmen Mountain, regarded as the symbol and soul of Zhangjiajie. It is the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie, rising 1518 meters above sea level, and is known as the Heaven Gate Mountain due to its large, natural ark. Many locals believe that Tianmen Mountain is the closest earth landmark to God. Take in stunning views, vertical cliffs, a thrilling cliff-hanging walkway and glass skywalk, as well as the world’s longest cable car ride. At the end of your tour you are transferred to the airport for your onward journey.

Our travel group was well cared for during all of our trip in Hong Kong and People's Republic of China. The hotel accommodations, local bus transportation and restaurant selections were great. Our local guides and national guide were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They provided us with bottled water during our daily tours and to take to our rooms in the evenings. Worth the Money

Our guides were very good - knowledgeable and friendly locals that gave us a great picture of Hong Kong. The Dragon's Back hike is super - fantastic views of the Pacific away from the crowds and chaos of downtown. The start is a little steep, but accessible for almost anyone. We also enjoyed the tram ride to Victoria and lunch was wonderful - the guide picked out incredible dishes and the view is spectacular. The Big Buddha and cable car ride on Lantau was also a great experience, well planned and executed, and a must-see. Our driver was there whenever we needed him despite the crazy traffic. I'd recommend A&K and these guides if you want to make your trip to Hong Kong special!

Best China Tour Guides

We were a little hesitant about using A&K thinking that their tours might be too upscale for our family of 6, and we trusted our long-time travel agent. However, we couldn't have been more pleased! Working with LF Travel, A&K made sure the itinerary was a perfect fit for us. Their responsiveness to us and our travel agent was also excellent. But what really distinguishes A&K are their local guides, who were simply fantastic! It was as though they were handpicked for our family. For sure, each was very knowledgeable about their city and the itinerary sights, but they also bonded with our family incredibly well and provided invaluable personal insights and perspectives, that greatly enhanced our travel. Their customer service was "above and beyond," making sure everything went smoothly at every point and helping us with anything we needed to get done, including our laundry. Rebecca (Beijing), John (Xi'an), Wallace (Hong Kong), and Jeff (Shanghai) were each truly exceptional!

I think these guys are probably capable of doing good but we really did not see it. Our guides were way under qualified. Their most marketable asset was ability to speak English. We used AK folks as a security blanket but decided early on / we used them in 6 cities of our trip. Some better than others. We had Benny in HK who was a real hustler. He pushed his tailor for suits which I did not appreciate. He was street smart and we did find his insight helpful on many things. His subject matter was Hong Kong- I'd love to have that as a subject and get paid for it. I think they need to find guides who can speak English and have more in common with guests- at least a college education.

Hong Kong Tour Guides

May was an incredible tour guide to Lantau Island. She and the driver were very knowledgeable about the island, and about Hong Kong in general. Their insights were very educational while providing for a leisurely tour. The weather unfortunately did not cooperate, it was quite foggy and chilly which made it impossible to see the Big Buddha statue on top of the mountain from the usual parking location. The driver used his contacts and was able to drive us up to the very base of the Big Buddha which afforded us a foggy but great viewing experience.

My second time using A&K in Hong Kong and they still provided a great tour. Our guide, San, while he specializes in hiking around Hong Kong, he provided an excellent tour with emphasis on the culture and history of Hong Kong. The transportation is very important and they provided fantastic drivers who navigated their way around comfortably and efficiently. Guides and drivers spoke great English. Will always use A&K in this part of the world.
