Santiago, Chile

International flight arrival in Santiago. Greeting by your personal host and private transfer to your hotel where you can check-in and freshen up after your flight. Spend the afternoon on a private guided tour of the main sightseeing attractions of the city. Your guide will take you up to the San Cristóbal and Santa Lucía lookout points in the lush parkland with spectacular views of the city and its surrounding mountains. Later, explore the city guide with visits to the Plaza de Armas with its 18th century cathedral, Constitution Plaza with its La Moneda Palace – the seat of executive power, the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, and the attractive neighborhoods of París-Londres and Santa Lucía. Also have the opportunity to visit La Chascona, the private home of Pablo Neruda, Chile’s most celebrated writer. Dine on Chile's noted cuisine in the evening as we will provide the best restaurant recommendations.

Day 2
Atacama, Chile
Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Greeting by your personal host and private transfer to the Santiago airport. Check-in assistance for your 2-hour flight to Calama, a small city situated on the edge of the Atacama Desert. Marvel at the dramatic open landscape with the backdrop of the Andes bordering Bolivia and Argentina, made up of striking volcanoes perched on the high plateau or “altiplano” under the cloudless sky. Upon arrival at your hotel, you will be welcomed by your personal host and transferred in private to the Alto Atacama, remotely nestled within a ravine and with unobstructed natural views. After you settle in, meet with your personal specialist guide who give you an introduction to the highlights of the area and explain the various excursions planned in private by Blue Parallel. Your dedicated guide will be flexible to mold the daily program according to your preferences. As the sun sets, trek in private to the Valle de la Luna, Atacama´s most famous spot. The iconic “Moon Valley” is a true highlight with its enormous sand dunes and dramatic rock formations. Hike to Tres Marías Lookout, where you will witness an extraordinary sunset with dazzling red and orange hues. Gourmet meal at your lodge in the evening.

Day 3
Atacama, Chile
Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We recommend a morning visit to the Quitor settlement on mountain bike. During the ride, cycle along paths which wind through the spectacular gorges of the Cordillera de la Sal. Continue to the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), named in connection with ancient myths of the local people. End the excursion at the village of San Isidro for a light walk and chance to explore its church. In the afternoon, head to the small village of Tocona, the “Hidden Valley” in Kunza. Visit the church, square, bell tower and local handicraft markets. Continue to the Soncor sector of the National Flamingo Reserve at the Chaxas lagoon. Walk on a 4000 meter circuit to observe the flora and bird life of the area. Enjoy the dramatic sunset unique to the Atacama desert along with delicious appetizers. Return to your lodge in the evening.

Day 4
Atacama, Chile
Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leave the hotel before dawn and arrive at the famous geysers at daybreak when the giant field is at its most active sending flumes of steam into the air. A light breakfast will be served. Following breakfast, drive to the Puritama Thermal springs to explore and enjoy champagne as you relax in the springs.

Spend the afternoon at leisure relaxing in the outdoor Jacuzzi and swimming in one of four connected outdoor swimming pools. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and later head out to observe the stars in one of the clearest skies on earth and discover the southern skies while learning about its scientific and ancestral significance.

Day 5
Jujuy, Argentina
Hotel El Manantial del Silencio Breakfast, Lunch

Embark on a private 7-hour scenic expedition to the province of Jujuy, accompanied by your personal guide. Make various stops along the way including a visit to the incredible salt flats, Salinas Grandes, the largest salt desert in central-northern Argentina covering an area of approximately 212 sq km and located 3,450 meters above sea level. In the late afternoon, arrival at your boutique hotel in the quaint town of Purmamarca.

Day 6
Jujuy, Argentina
Hotel El Manantial del Silencio Breakfast

With your expert guide, enjoy a 4x4 excursion through Quebrada de Humahuaca, a valley in the Jujuy region renowned for its rich indigenous heritage and culture. The memorable Quebrada de Humahuaca snakes its way upward toward Bolivia. You will visit pre-Columbian villages such as Tilcara and Maimara, rich aboriginal traditions. You will be able to enjoy hiking trails throughout the day with your personal guide and a pack-llama. You will visit the incredible “Salinas Grandes”, an area of dazzling salt flats, and the majestic mountain of Seven Colors—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palette of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed valley changes constantly, from shades of creamy white to rich, deep reds. Enjoy a recommended dinner at a local restaurant in Purmamarca in the evening.

Day 7
Calchaquí, Argentina
Patios de Cafayate Breakfast, Dinner

Greeting by your host and private transfer to Jujuy airport for your private flight to Cafayate. Upon arrival to Cafayate, relax on the grounds of your beautiful property. Later, take part in a private cooking class with a local chef and learn how to make the region’s traditional empanadas (meat-filled pastries) using the freshest local ingredients.

Day 8
Calchaquí, Argentina

Although the region of Mendoza is crowned as Argentina’s main wine region, highland Cafayate produces some of Argentina’s finest wines, including its native white torrontés, which is produced at one of one of the highest viticultural productions in the world at 5,742 feet. In the morning head out to visit the El Esteco, Piatelli and El Porvenir vineyards to learn about the high altitude wine-making process and try some of the local varieties. In the afternoon, discover the breathtaking natural beauty of the region by hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding through the many trails in the valley.

Day 9
Salta, Argentina
Legado Mitico Breakfast

Greeting by your personal host and private transfer to Salta (3.5 hour drive). You will pass through a lunar-like landscape in the Quebrada de Las Conchas where the sandstone rocks form distinctive shapes including the Devil’s Throat, the Amphitheater, the Toad, and the Friar among others. In the afternoon, private sightseeing tour of the city of Salta, accompanied by your personal guide. Highlights include the 18th Century Cabildo, San Francisco church, and the 19th Century “Iglesia Catedral”. Hike or take the gondola to the top of Mount San Bernardo for beautiful views of Salta and the Lerma Valley. Later, enjoy a recommended dinner in Salta’s colonial center.

Day 10
Buenos Aires, Argentina

Greeting by your host and assistance with check-in for your flight to Buenos Aires. You will be greeted by your host and taken to your luxury hotel in the center of the city. In the afternoon, Head out on your first sightseeing tour of the city and explore the aristocratic neighborhood of Recoleta home to the opulent Recoleta Cemetery, Plaza Francia and the Fine Arts Museum, all walking distance from your hotel. You will also have the opportunity to visit nearby galleries and shops which are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood.

Day 11
Buenos Aires, Argentina

In the morning, enjoy an exclusive private guided tour of the world-famous Colón Theatre, South America’s most prestigious performing arts venue. Visit the historic Plaza de Mayo anchored by the presidential palace known as the Casa Rosada. Continue on to San Telmo, the city’s oldest neighborhood and the birthplace of tango and stroll through its cobbled stoned streets while browsing quirky antique shops or, sit and enjoy a coffee in Plaza Dorrego

In the evening, your host and driver will take you to one of the city's top restaurants. Following, heda to the best tango show in town, Rojo Tango, and if you wish try the dance yourself, we will pair you with an expert tango hostess who will take you to the legendary local dance halls (known as milongas) to try it out first hand.

Start off in the modern city of Santiago, then head to the Atacama Desert known as the driest place on earth. This unique region is located at the foothills of the Chilean Andes and offers spectacular landscapes of majestic volcanoes, multi-colored lagoons, and hot springs. Cross over to Jujuy, Argentina with its widely diverse terrain, pre-Colombian ruins and local indigenous culture. Then, head south to Cafayate, home to some of Argentina's high-altitude wines before spending the night in the charming city of Salta. Finish your trip with a few days in the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires.
