(meet at designated location - no transportation included)
You will be welcomed by a guide as you immerse in the luxurious lounges of the Foundation to discover, as a VIP, the studio of Yves Saint Laurent : the place where every collection was born.
Your guide will tell you 1001 anecdotes while showing several original sketches on which you can read the notes of the fashion designer aimed at the Atelier (dressmaking workshop).
You will be revealed symbolic patterns of fashion design as well as production boards. You will admire catwalk photos and news clippings in order to better understand how a fashion house operates.
Finally, in the exhibition, you will discover the 1971 collection ‘Libération’ also known as ‘Quarante’, inspired by the fashion of those years affected by the war. Short dresses, wedge heels, square shoulders, nude make-up : references to the Occupation of Paris which made scandal. Violently criticized by the press, the collection gave width over the retro vein which quickly invaded the streets.
