This morning meet your guide at 9AM for the journey to Museumplein. For transportation today, you will use the efficient public transportation system.
Today’s highlight will be a visit to the newly reopened Rijksmuseum (reopened in 2013). This is the largest museum in the Netherlands, featuring an astounding 1.5 kilometers of art, and showcasing many works of Dutch masters, items of the Netherlands’ cultural history (artifacts, clothing, prints) and more.
Then, either stroll or use the tram to explore central Amsterdam and the neighborhood of Jordaan. This is probably the most famous neighborhood in the Netherlands and was once a working-class bastion and is now a gentrified hipster neighborhood of galleries, restaurants and specialty shops. This is also where you will find some of the most scenic outdoor markets in the country. Afterwards, explore a bit more of the city including Dam Square and the 17th century Central Station building.
Optional: Exeter International Extraordinary Experience
Instead of exploring on foot, see Amsterdam as it’s meant to be seen from your own private luxurious canal boat. Your guide will accompany you on this 1.5-hour tour and will narrate your journey. Enjoy snacks and drinks on board while you have the perfect introduction to the city.
