Description

9am – Meet your driver guide in the lobby of your hotel and departure for a full day wine touring in Alsace.

At first, enjoy a meeting with Vincent Stoeffler, owner of Domaine Stoeffler in Barr. Stroll in the vineyard with Vincent. Vincent was a precursor of organic and biodynamics winemaking in Alsace. Wine-tasting. Then departure for a visit of Obernai, a charming medieval town. Lunch at a quality winstub, a restaurant offering local specialties. – to be paid on sitePrivate visit of the renowned Spindler’s wood marquetry in Boersch, a famous symbol of arts & crafts in Alsace. Meeting with the owners. Visit of Mittelbergheim

Thanks to the great diversity of soils, we offer you a very broad range of wines.

We produce 35 different wines with the 8 traditional grape varieties of Alsace, the wines with stony characteristics, the Grands Crus, the Late Harvest and "Sélection de grains nobles" wines.

All the vines are cultivated according to the biological agricultural rules, which means without synthetic products or fertilizers.

All our production comes from our own vineyard and is sold in bottles in our cellar located at the property in Barr. You can also taste our wines all around France in restaurants and wine cellars, and abroad as we export towards ten countries among which Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Japan, United States…

Second most visited city in the Bas-Rhin, only 5 min form the hotel, it belongs to the label « Plus beau détour de France ». Obernai is worth being seen!

At the crossroads of the three large regions of Alsace: the vineyards with the wine route, the Vosges and the large rural plain starting right at the town gates, appears and spreads out the proud city of Obernai. Located at 25 km south west of Strasbourg where the little valley of the Ehn River opens out, Obernai used to bear the name of "Ehenheim" precisely because of the Ehn River. Obernai is so attractive that it is the most visited city of the Bas-Rhin after the capital of Europe.

Obernai, the birthplace of St. Odile, is a condensed version of Alsace. The town will come up to the visitor's expectations whether he be gourmet, sportsman, history lover or just an ordinary tourist. Here, welcoming people is a tradition and our smile comes from the heart. You will feel like home.

Alsatian gastronomy is generous. Who has never tasted sauerkraut, pretzels, pie outbreak and other renowned local dishes? It is therefore quite naturally on the Alsace Wine Route, at the heart of villages and towns, that you will find places to eat: traditional and friendly winstubs or renowned establishments of starred chefs, they will have you discover delicious dishes putting high quality local products at the honor!

The workshops and the exhibition gallery of the Spindler Art Marquetry workshop are located in the former Saint Léonard Abbey. The quality and sophistication of the works produced there are globally renowned.

This renowned gastronomic center stands on the slopes at the foot of the Crax hill. Its remarkable location and architectural heritage have earned it the title of one of ‘the most beautiful villages of France’.

Meeting with Albert Seltz, the owner of Domaine Albert Seltz in Mittelbergheim, which makes wine since 1576! Visit of the 16th century cellar, and wine-tasting. Albert is the wine producer who succeeded to have the Zotzenberg Sylvaner from Mittelbergheim acknowledged as Grand Cru by the wine authorities. It is the only Sylvaner Grand Cru in the world! Albert will talk with passion about his work around Sylvaner and other varieties.

5pm – End of the tour back at your hotel.

Both of our airport drivers were excellent, and it was so reassuring knowing that they were there to pick us up and drop us off. Giverny was gorgeous, and our tour guide Paul really made the experience memorable. Our contact Edwige confirmed everything and made sure we were taken care of during our trip.

There were a lot of moving parts in our trip, that started in Paris, went through Reims and Champagne, to Strasbourg and Alsace, to Annecy and then Geneva. W arranged for terrific guides, one more knowledgeable and interesting after the next. The drivers were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful cooking class in Alsace. Just a perfectly arranged trip.

Beautiful Day In the Rhone Valley

By: Jessica L

Reviewed on: 27 Sep 2017

I had an incredible day with Laurent in the Northern Rhone Valley. I have always wanted to see the vineyards of Cote Rotie and Condrieu. Laurent was so knowledgable about not only the wine regions, but also the food, history, and architecture of the region. His hospitality was also very genuine as I could tell he was very concerned about my personal expectations and goals of the tour. I learned so much in one day that I now have to go back to do more exploration of the things I wasn't able to read about on-line when doing some studying prior to my trip. Laurent completely exceeded all of my expectations and I would recommend his tour services to anyone looking to explore this region of France.

While visiting Paris, we decided to take a day trip to Champagne. W Travel France provided the transportation and itinerary. We could not have spent a more enjoyable day in Champagne. Our guide arranged for visits to two Champagne houses (one small and one large) for tastings and lunch at a local brasserie, all the while educating us on the history of the region. Very well done!
