El Calafate, Argentina To Punta Arenas, Chile

Day 1
El Calafate, Argentina
Eolo Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Rendezvous this morning in El Calafate and head toward Mt Frias. Hike through the La Anita Valley, experiencing the wilderness and scale of scenery that has made Patagonia so well celebrated.

Day 2
El Calafate, Argentina
Eolo Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

The next morning we’ll find ourselves on ice—with the aid of crampons, of course, as we head out to visit the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. Later we’ll walk to the rarely visited northern side

of the Magellanes peninsula, where there is an amazing panoramic view of the glacier.

Day 3
El Calafate, Argentina
Eolo Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Our last day in Argentina is a day full of options meaning that you can push yourself as hard or as little as you want today, choosing from hiking, biking or horseback riding.

Day 4
Torres del Paine, Chile
Awasi Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Head south for the Chilean border, the drive is spectacular, remote and exhilarating. Spend the afternoon relaxing in your wood fire hot tub or hiking through a beautiful lenga forest.

Day 5
Torres del Paine, Chile
Awasi Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Hike a portion of the W circuit, possible Frenchman's Valley or maybe the more challenging Base of Torres hike. The world famous Torres del Paine National Park has something for everyone!

Day 6
Torres del Paine, Chile
Awasi Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Jump in the saddle and head out into the plains or visit the Geological and Paleontological Park of Baguales to learn secrets of what life here used to be like through its abundant fossils dating back 25 million years.

Day 7
Puerto Bories, Chile
Awasi Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Hike up to the top of the cliffs overlooking Laguna Sofia. Nesting condors are the big draws here but the place is alive with wildlife and the hike through the forest to get above the tree line is really special.

Day 8
Puerto Bories, Chile
Awasi Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack

Head out for a kayak on the waters directly outside the hotel. If water isn't your thing then explore the area on bikes or horses with the local guides. Finish the day at the relaxing bar with views across the water complete with comfy leather chairs in front of a roaring log fire.

Day 9
Punta Arenas, Chile
None Breakfast

The best way to see the world

By: SueandRoger

This is our 10th Butterfield Trip. It remains the best way to see a region. Nothing beats vigorous activity during the day and luxury at night. Bespoke trips for a large group are cost-effective and totally your own. We loved our guides Denis and Jerome this month in Loire, France. Amazing trip. With B&R you have access to private homes, private experiences, and people and places you would never meet otherwise.

Butterfield & Robinson Tuscany

Reviewed on: 26 Sep 2018

My experience with B&R in Tuscany was first-rate. The guides we had were enthusiastic, knowledgeable , and professional. The accommodations were intimate and top notch. Meals at both restaurants and at the home of locals residents were outstanding. The cycling equipment was new and state of the art, including ebike and gps assist. My entire group had a wonderful time and we all agree that we will recommend Butterfield & Robinson and consider future trips with them.
