Day 2
Nairobi, Kenya
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya
Sirikoi Lodge Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

09:00 After breakfast transfer to Wilson Airport for Safarilink scheduled flight to Lewa Downs, departing at 10:20.

11:30 You will be met at the airstrip by your camp driver/guide and take a game viewing drive to Sirikoi.

Willie Roberts and his wife Sue set up Sirikoi a few years ago on Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Willie knows everything about the bush and is a great raconteur about his time living in the Mara and working on anti-poaching there in the 1990s. This is a great camp in which to listen and learn and, being on Lewa, it has fabulous wildlife.

Four beautifully appointed tents, each with Victorian baths, overlook the well-watered lawn which attracts the grazing animals. There are also two standard tents and a secluded two bedroom cottage which is situated in a private corner of the camp near the wetlands where elephant and buffalo are regular visitors. In 2010, the three-bed roomed Sirikoi house became the lodge's latest opening. Two bedrooms were built in one unit whilst the master bedroom was a unit on its own with a large sitting and dining room separating them.

The swimming pool offers the perfect spot to watch game and birdlife and the lodge also has a 20ft hide, which is a great spot for viewing the diverse landscape, having sundowners and stargazing. Rhino, elephant and Grevy's zebra can be seen on bush walks, horseback rides or from safari vehicles.

After lunch there is time to relax before taking a late afternoon game viewing drive.

Day 3
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya
Sirikoi Lodge Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Explore Lewa Downs Conservancy and enjoy the various activities available, which include day and night game viewing drives, bush walks. Bi-plane ride, horse riding, camel rides, farm visits and cultural visits are available at an extra cost. There is also the opportunity to visit the on-going conservation projects and also the craft centre run by the local community. For those wishing to relax, there is a swimming pool which seems to flow right over the escarpment.

Day 4
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya
Sirikoi Lodge Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

All three of the big cats, up to 200 elephant, greater Kudu and the graceful Gerenuk antelope with its long neck are part of the unique experience that is Lewa. Several springs bubble out on the reserve to feed the perennial streams that ensure plentiful wildlife sightings year-round. One of these springs trickles into the Lewa swamp, home to hippo and the rare sitatunga antelope. Another treat is to spend time with a rhino orphan, or one of the several young animals being hand-raised by the Craig family.

Day 5
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya
Namunyak Concervancy, Kenya
Sarara Camp Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for Tropic Air private charter flight to Namunyak Conservancy, departing at 11:00.

11:20 Upon arrival you will be met at the airstrip by your Sarara Camp drive/guide and transfer to the camp.

Perched on the dramatic southern slopes of the Mathews Mountains, on the edge of Kenya's Northern Frontier, Sarara Camp offers a rare encounter with the wild Africa of old. This is elephant country, and in the 75,000-acre Namunyak Group Ranch, the human presence remains virtually insignificant. A partnership between the local Samburus' Namunyak Conservation Trust and the experienced safari company Acacia Trails, Sarara is a basic but very comfortable tented camp, with a large two-storey mud-and-wattle living/dining area and five charmingly furnished tents set in secluded clearings on the forested hillside.

The camp's piece de resistance is its beautiful stone swimming pool, built into the sloping rocks in front of the living area, which must be one of the most romantic and spectacular sundowner spots in East Africa.

Like the camp itself, the pool exerts a strong draw on all visitors - including, on occasion, a passing thirsty elephant. The camp is situated to the north of Ol Donyo Sabache (Ol Lolokwe), just below Warges peak, in the fabled Mathews Mountains of Northern Kenya.

Later this afternoon you will enjoy a game viewing activity or cultural experience.

Day 6
Namunyak Concervancy, Kenya
Sarara Camp Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You have the full day at Namunyak Conservancy and to explore the surrounding area and meet many of the wonderful people who inhabit this land. Activities include guided walks, hiking into Mathew Forest, Climbing to the top of Lolokwe with donkeys and visit to the Samburu singing wells.

Namunyak (meaning 'a place of peace') is a vast tribal community wilderness area administered by the recently formed Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust, in close conjunction with Piers and Hilary Bastard and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

Day 7
Namunyak Concervancy, Kenya
Chyulu Hills, Kenya
oL Donyo Lodge Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

13:20 Arrive Wilson Airport and connect to another Safarilink scheduled flight to Chyulu Hills departing at 12:25.

Ol Donyo Wuas is nestled in the Chyulu Hills, between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks. Richard Bonham's home, on a quarter million acre Maasai group ranch, offers accommodation in four cottages and a beautiful, centrally position mess/dining room. All the cottages are uniquely decorated making the most of local materials and have open fronts leading out to the verandah and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro beyond. As an exciting and beautiful destination, few places can compare with Ol Donyo Wuas. The open plains, rolling Chyulu Hills and snow-capped Kilimanjaro invoke images of Africa as it was at the turn of the last century. A range of activities are available including horse riding, bush walks, day and night game drives, and walks to explore the volcanic hills.

Enjoy a late afternoon game viewing activity.

After breakfast transfer to the Airstrip for Safarilink scheduled flight to Nairobi, departing at 08:30.

09:50 Met on arrival and assisted to connect to another Safarilink scheduled flight to Maasai Mara, departing at 10:00.

11:00 Met on arrival by your Sanctuary Olonana driver/guide and transferred to the camp with game viewing en route.

Sanctuary Olonana's 14 exceptional new suites, at least 130 square meters (1399 square feet) in size, flaunt clean lines and organic materials. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors fold open to reveal magnificent Mara River views and the interiors have been finished with elegant nature-inspired furnishings to create an ever-present sense of being connected to the great outdoors. Sumptuous king-sized beds, with overhead fans and a daybed on the deck invite you to relax inside or out, while the sprawling lower lounge area offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Three of the new suites feature an extra bedroom located off the open plan bathroom, perfect for families with young children. The unfaltering attention to detail extends to fully stocked mini-fridges, specially commissioned African art and glamorous en suites. Refined open plan marble- and slate-accented bathrooms feature a generous tub, double vanity and a rain shower with wall to ceiling glass windows ensuring you can enjoy the view wherever you are in the suite.

The soothing interiors of the main lodge are an extension of the surrounding wilderness as a Kenyan Greenheart tree extends through the centre. Dramatic glass doors open out from the lounge to the terrace. Here, faded indigo rugs and elegant Edison-bulb pendant lights gently illuminate the decking without competing with the natural ambiance. The inviting new fire pit is encircled by deckchairs, with each seat promising river views. Dine on the deck of the main lodge and overlook the river's resident hippos.

This afternoon take a game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara, a reserve abundant in wildlife.

Day 11
Maasai Mara, Kenya
Sanctuary Olonana Lodge Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Spend the day exploring the Mara on scheduled morning and afternoon game viewing drive.

The jewel in Africa's crown, Maasai Mara is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife. Her 1,510 square kilometres of open savannah, woodlands and tree-lined rivers creates an eco-system which supports huge numbers of bird and mammal species. Lion are found in abundance throughout the park as are elephant, giraffe, a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, if lucky, you may also find rhino. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara, and patience is often rewarded with unique sightings: a pride of lion stalking their prey; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree; male wildebeest sparring to attract females into their harem; or even a herd of elephant protecting their young from opportunistic predators. The annual wildebeest migration traditionally is present in the Mara from July-September and at this time nature's dramas unfold before your very eyes at every turn.

Abercrombie & Kent Kenya, especially Fiona and Benton, ensured that our trip to Kenya was an unforgettable experience.  My sister and I went to Kenya to visit animal orphanages. Abercrombie & Kent Kenya met us at the Nairobi airport and made the entire trip a seamless experience.   Abercrombie & Kent Kenya staff drove us to our destinations, took us on game drives and delivered us to our flights. Abercrombie & Kent Kenya's staff brought a wealth of information including knowledge about the animals, history and culture.  I would not hesitate to recommend Abercrombie & Kent Kenya.  The company and staff ensured that our trip was amazing.

A&K put together, along with my Travel Advisor, a custom 8 week long tour of Africa for me involving 8 countries. It was a great trip. It covered everything I had wanted to see and more, providing great variety. The travel arrangements all worked smoothly, The accommodations, guides, excursions provided were all first rate. I've used A&K on many trips before. This was probably the most complicated one they have organized for me and I am delighted with how smoothly it went.
