See the highlights of beautiful Santorini on this memorable scenic tour around the rural countryside. Your first stop will be at the picturesque village of Mesa Gonia, located in the northern foothills of Mt. Profitis Ilias, and home to the most important Byzantine monument, the Church of Panagia Episkopi.
From here, you will travel to the traditional village of Pyrgos, once a hideaway for pirates in bygone days. Here, you will be able to stroll along the maze of narrow streets and appreciate the medieval architecture, secret paths and the wide-sweeping views in every direction. You will also visit the ruins of a Venetian castle, before setting off to the village of Megalochori, which is located on a hill encircled by long-established vineyards, one of which you will visit to be given a fascinating glimpse into the production of Santorini wine and sample some of the collection yourself.
Finally, the high point of the tour, a visit to the Minoan Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri, which has a great number of remarkably well-preserved remains of vibrant Frescoes and artifacts.
