Enjoy a leisurely drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal for a perfect photo opportunity of this narrow waterway and the Diolkos, a paved trackway, once used as a shortcut saving shipping vessels from a perilous voyage round the Peloponnese peninsula. You will visit the site of Ancient Corinth located at the northern base of the hill of Acrocorinth and stop at the archaeological site of Ancient Nemea, famous in Greek myth as the home of the Nemean Lion, which was killed by the hero Heracles.
Continue your private chauffeured tour to one of the finest long-established wineries in the region, where you will be given a fascinating glimpse into the production of the internationally-awarded Nemean wines and enjoy a memorable wine tasting experience.
The second part of the tour takes you too Ancient Mycenae where you will see the Lions Gate, the Cyclopean masonry found in the ruined walls, the nearby Tomb of King Agamemnon and the Archaeological Museum of Mycenae, where you will see copies of ancient death masks and the model of the ancient city, including reconstructions of several rooms of the palace.
Finally, visit the picturesque seaport town of Nafplio, once the first capital of Greece where you will enjoy a leisurely meal by the sea.
It is highly recommended to wear shoes with rubber soles when visiting any archaeological site in Greece. Expect uneven surfaces and some steep inclines.
