After arriving into Russia’s bustling capital city of Moscow, check into your modern city hotel to recuperate after your flight. You will have some free time in the afternoon to walk around this intriguing city and anticipate the exciting 15-day adventure that lies ahead before a good night's rest at the hotel.

Day 2

Start the day with an early morning breakfast before commencing a cultural tour of the city. Your guide will take you past Moscow’s most spectacular sights, including the stunning Novodevichy Convent and the beautiful Kremlin with its glistening roof. The tour will take approximately eight hours and you will have the opportunity to look around the Kremlin and Armory, one of Moscow’s oldest museums, before returning to your hotel for the night.

Start the day with an early morning breakfast before commencing a cultural tour of the city. Your guide will take you past Moscow’s most spectacular sights, including the stunning Novodevichy Convent and the beautiful Kremlin with its glistening roof. The tour will take approximately eight hours and you will have the opportunity to look around the Kremlin and Armory, one of Moscow’s oldest museums, before returning to your hotel for the night.

 Awakening in the luxurious surrounds of your hotel, enjoy some time to explore the elegant Kremlin and infamous Red Square at your leisure. After some time to marvel at the crimson buildings of Russia’s most distinctive and culturally important landmarks surrounding the square, a transfer will take you to the station where you will jump aboard your train to ride the Trans-Siberian Railway towards Yekaterinburg.

 Today is reserved for relaxing in the train and enjoying remarkable Russian scenes as they pass by your window. The cabins are well-appointed and possess all the amenities necessary for a more than comfortable ride between stations. The train gets into Yekaterinburg in the evening, where a contemporary and lavishly-decorated hotel awaits, directly opposite the train station.

 Begin the day with a city tour, where your guide will take you around the town’s modern side, followed by a trip to its main historical attractions, including the Historical Square and the traditional merchant houses of the “gold rush” era. From here, it’s on to the majestic Memorial Cathedral, a complex of six wooden churches surrounded by a centuries-old pine forest. Then, onto the European and Asian border, where an obelisk marks the two joints of the world, with a stop at a memorial along the way that pays tribute to victims under Stalin’s rule. Enjoy some free time before boarding the train in the evening.

Novosibirsk, Russia

Reflect on the sights of the previous day while relaxing in the comfort of your cabin. The train is also a great place to meet fellow travelers and share the experiences of your journey. In the evening, the train will arrive into Novosibirsk station, the largest on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Your luxury four-star hotel awaits opposite the station where you will spend the night in comfort.

Irkutsk, Russia

Spend the day unwinding on the train and enjoying the Trans-Siberian experience while watching the world pass by. The scenery from Novosibirsk and Irkutsk changes dramatically and rapidly. Tonight, enjoy a surreal night on the train, where the gentle to-and-fro motion will send you into a tranquil sleep.

 Arriving in the Siberian town of Irkutsk in the morning, transfer to your cosmopolitan city hotel to re-energize. Broaden your horizons with a four-hour city tour covering the town’s most impressive sights, including a trip to the historic memorial Decemberists’ Museum. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, unwinding in your hotel or taking a walking tour of the surroundings.

Day 10
Irkutsk, Russia

Depart in the morning to Listvyanka (around 80 minutes), a settlement on the banks of the stunning Lake Baikal, stopping en-route at the open-air Wooden Architecture Museum. Later, a funicular ride will take you to Cherksy Peak for panoramic views over the lake. Stop for lunch in the Last Century restaurant to sample local dishes with fresh fish caught from the lake’s deep, fresh waters. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Baikal Lake and embark on a walking excursion to Krestova village with a stop at St. Nicolas church along the way before heading back to your hotel in Irkutsk for a night’s rest.

 First thing this morning, transfer to the railway station in Irkutsk for the onward journey to Khabarovsk. The train departs at 07:55 and you will have the day in the train to reflect on your journey with the fellow passengers before spending the night in the comfort of your cabin.

Take this day to refuel and become submerged in the sights along the Trans-Siberian Railway. Uninterrupted scenes of unspoilt landscapes will become a common trend as you take time to relax and enjoy the experience. Relive the journey as it was done the first time in 1916 before retiring for another peaceful evening in your cabin.

Day 13
Khabarovsk, Russia

Upon arrival to the picturesque city of Khabarovsk at 17:54, transfer to your contemporary hotel for a welcome break from the train journey. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure, recuperating in the hotel or exploring the city, where pretty Tsar-era buildings and scenic walkways lined with multi-colored tiles and sculptures make for a charming end to the day.

Vladivostok, Russia

  the day with a four-hour panoramic city tour after breakfast, covering all the town’s highlights. One of these highlights is the Historical Museum, which provides insights into the city’s history and local traditions. Enjoy some free time here before the transfer to the station where you will jump aboard the train at 18:24 and head towards the final stop at Vladivostok.

 Pulling into Vladivostok station at 06:27, you will have the full day to enjoy the sights in the city. Discover its hidden gems with an introductory tour, featuring the Central Square, S-56 Submarine, Triumph Arc, Vladivostok Fortress, Fokin Street walk and a viewpoint with stunning panoramic views over the iconic Summit 2012 buildings and the new bridge over Gold Horn Bay. You will have some time to yourself to enjoy the city’s sights before heading to your immaculate hotel for your final night in Russia.

The Remote Lands Guides were excellent. The cars used for transportation were roomy and clean. The hotels were 5 star and their attention to detail was over the top. We had 4 different guides (one in each city) and they were all wonderful. We appreciated that they let us be flexible and make game time decisions. We skipped a lot of the "touristy" sites and felt we had a more authentic experience.

Excellent. Guides at each location were friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Want to share a special thank you to Nadia Thakul (Bangkok) & Mr. Buntheun (Siem Reap). After missing my connecting flight from Shanghai to Siem Reap, I called Mr. Buntheun to let him know I was not able tomake it to Siem Reap as planned and for him to notify the hotel. I was flying instead to Phnom Phen and would notify him later of my flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Phnom Phen as I was filling out my visa on arrival form, a Remote Land guide greeted me and told me that Mr. Buntheun had notified the Bangkok office of my predicament and sent him to greet me. As you can imagine being in a foreign land in an unplanned location he was a sight for sore eyes. He got me in contact with Nadia who then took care of the rest of the accommodations (hotel, transportation to/from airport and flight from Phnom Phen to Siem Reap the next day). Assistance provided by Remote Lands got us to Siem Reap on time.
