Itinerary

DAY LOCATION(S) HOTEL MEALS DESCRIPTION
Day 1
Hogno Han Mountains, Mongolia
None Dinner

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s beloved capital. You’ll be greeted and transferred to a private vehicle, which will escort you on a scenic drive to the Högnö Khan Mountain area. Take in the Mongol Els sand dunes and a small lake with local wildlife such as herons and ducks. Settle in at your ger camp at Högnö Khan Mountain and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 2
Hogno Han Mountains, Mongolia
None Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Wake up this morning and breathe in deeply the fresh mountain air that surrounds you. Today you will visit the Högnö Khan Mountain and the small Erdene Khombo monastery within it. The monastery is now being restored, hopefully to mirror its one-time splendour. See the progress for yourself. Explore the fascinating countryside where many nomadic herdsmen call home.

Day 3
Karakorum, Mongolia
Ger Camp Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After a restful night’s sleep, you’ll embark on a full day excursion to Harhorin, a two-hour drive away. Explore the temples of Erdenezuu monastery - it once held 400 within its walls, but that number has dwindled down to three. Witness the prayers performed by the monks, and see why this is considered one of the most fascinating sites of Mongolia.

Day 4
Karakorum, Mongolia
None Breakfast

Your short journey has come to an end today - you’ll return to Ulaanbaatar by car, where you may check in to your hotel or you may choose to be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route.
