Pick up your hire car at 9.00am in the morning.

Today is known as driving the Golden Circle: erupting hot springs at Geysir, Gullfoss waterfalls and Þingvellir National Park. The Gullfoss waterfalls are Iceland's most popular and easily accessible from Reykjavik, therefore, rather crowded in the peak season. These two-tiered waterfalls are spectacular and involve a short walk from the car park.

Small hotel in the heart of the Golden Circle Breakfast

Day 4: Snorkelling tour in Silfra, in Þingvellir National Park.

The Ultimate snorkelling tour in Silfra, in Þingvellir National Park. Dive between the continents!

Today, drive to the Information Centre by the Þingvellir National Park and meet your guides for the ultimate Iceland adventure. Snorkelling in Silfra is one of Iceland's best-kept secrets. Iceland straddles the rift between the Eurasian and North American continental plates and you can see the rift for yourself on this snorkelling trip. You are provided with a dry suit, as the temperature of the water is around 2 degrees. You then get to float on the lake's surface, peering into the depths through pristine water that takes twenty years to filter down from a glacier through volcanic ash. By the time it reaches Silfra, the water is so transparent that people have been known to get vertigo as they hover on the surface, floating as if on air over the fissure below.

Day 5 & 6: Explore South Iceland - 4x4 Driver Guided Super Jeep Tour to Þórsmörk Valley & Hiking Tour in the Foothills of Eyjafjallajökull.

To reach this secluded highland valley we will need a modified 4x4 vehicle, a genuine Icelandic super jeep and an experienced driver guide.

Many tours claim to be once in a lifetime, but if wild places, stunning (and challenging) hikes and volcanoes stir your imagination, then this is certain to be an adventure tour to be remembered. Our super jeeps seat 5 - 12 persons so our tours are always a small group experience!

Given that 59 Deveees North is in Norway, they had no presence in Greenland whatsoever. While they were able to arrange the activities we requested, we had no single point person in Greenland. We felt on our own on a daily basis. This may have been due to a lack of personal experience with Greenland and more specifically the town where we visited. Since this is a national heritage site, I would have expected greater familiarity. However, we were able to fend for ourselves when neededttt

Did not get what we had hoped for overall on our trip to Iceland. The only part of our trip that was planned for us and we loved was at The Blue Lagoon. Did not get "guided" tours, got pick up and drop off at destinations. Planning done on own and helped put together by our agent was better than what 50 Degrees North did for us.

My travel agent worked directly with 50 North in planning our trip. I can say that all of our tours were professional and fun. Also, when the weather caused restrictions on some of the planned activities, the company was quick to find a suitable alternative. Everything was exactly as described to us and we had a fantastic trip!
