9:00 am: Be met in the lobby of your hotel in Paris.
Go to Auvers-sur-Oise where you will follow the Van Gogh's footsteps. Start with a visit of the house where Van Gogh settled after he came back from Provence. Although the site has become very popular because of all the tourists, it remains a special place which is important in Van Gogh history. You will see Van Gogh’s bedroom which has been miraculously preserved and the well conserved Auberge Ravoux where the artist used to eat. Then go to the cemetery where Van Gogh was buried in 1890. Two stelae against the left side wall of the cemetery modestly indicate the place where the Van Gogh and his brother are buried. From there, visitors can admire a pretty view of the church tower. Lunch at leisure in a typical restaurant suggested by your guide. In the afternonn, visit the Château d'Auvers-sur-Oise. It offers a multimedia journey, 'Voyage au Temps des Impressionistes' (Journey to the Time of the Impressionists) where you can relive the bright, colourful era of Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, etc. You make your way through the different rooms of the chateau, all with reconstructed decor and atmospheres reminiscent of the Impressionists' favourite themes. All year round you can enjoy temporary exhibitions, a restaurant with a terrace for hot days, a tree-filled park and French formal gardens, a unique collection of irises, cultural and festive events, floral art and painting workshops, etc. And to get there, take advantage of the chateau shuttle bus, which you can book on the website.
6:00 pm:Return to Paris at the end of the afternoon.
