This Buddhist holy place has been a major pilgrimage site for centuries. After your tour, take a break for lunch - you’ll need extra fuel for your afternoon shopping trip. Head to Barkhor Street and Chongsaikang Market, two bustling areas that sell a great variety of Tibetan goods and handicrafts. Following this, you’ll embark on a three-hour drive to Samye Temple. This is Tibet’s oldest Buddhist monastery, nestled between the Yarlung Zangbo River and Habort Mountain. Spend the night at the temple inn, or camp alongside the Yagong River.

Day 4
Yamdrok Tso, China
None Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Continue your scenic road trip today, coming to one of Tibet’s most incredible landscapes - Yamdrok Lake and its surrounding snowcapped mountains.
