DAY LOCATION(S) HOTEL MEALS DESCRIPTION
Day 1
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Blue Sky Hotel Dinner

Arrive in the single least-populated area on Earth - the mystically beautiful Mongolia. The capital city of Ulaanbaatar is your first stop. You arrive with plenty of time for a city tour. Explore the area’s monasteries and enjoy tea with a head monk at the Gandan Monastery. Peruse Mongolia’s rare art that is actually protected by UNESCO when touring the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts. Check into the best hotel in the area, the Blue Sky Hotel.

Day 2
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Blue Sky Hotel Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Begin your day with a stroll through Chinggis Square (formerly known as Sukhbaatar Square) and learn the intense history of the Mongolian revolution. Next, visit the Stock Exchange and learn about the country’s business side. Discover the delights of the Naran Tuul Market, known as the Black Market. If you can’t find something here, it most likely doesn’t exist! Return to the Blue Sky to relax in the evening time.

Day 3
Gobi Desert, Mongolia
None Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leave the city in favor of the vast desert as you fly from Ulaanbaatar into the South Gobi, the largest desert in Asia. Explore the Geegeet Valley. Experience a camel ride through the Moltsog Els sand dunes. While most of the desert is steppe and shrub, there are also sand dunes worth checking out. Check in to the Three Camel Lodge, where you will have your own Ger with a private sink and toilet.

Day 4
Gobi Desert, Mongolia
Three Camel Lodge (South Gobi) Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Begin the day with breakfast at the Three Camel Lodge, and then travel into the South Gobi to see the incredible Petroglyphs at Havtsgait with your own eyes. Visit the Flaming Cliffs named for the jagged red rocks. Take an adventurous excursion in the Yoi Valley and chat with a nomad family you are likely to meet along the way. Visit the Gurvan Saikan Nature Museum to gain new insight into the traditional local culture. Return to the Three Camel Lodge and relax in the evening.

Day 5
Hutain Nuruu National Park, Mongolia
HS Khaan Resort Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Fly from South Gobi to Ulaanbaatar, where you will be driven to Hustai National Park. This is where you will find the last remaining Przewalski’s Horse. The critically endangered horses were declared extinct in the wild in the 1960s and were re-reintroduced into their home location in 1992. Stay at HS Khaan Resort in their luxurious and modern cottages, built with supreme comfort and traditional Ger design elements in mind.

Day 6
Hutain Nuruu National Park, Mongolia
HS Khaan Resort Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Explore the park today and search for Przewalski’s Horses roaming free. There are other rare species to see as well, with the red deer, Red-footed Amur Falcons and eagles enjoying the park’s arid steppe, forest and slopes. The area has ideal hiking and birdwatching.

Day 7
Terelj National Park, Mongolia
The Terelj Hotel Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Drive three hours to the natural Terelj National Park. The massive rock formations and lush countryside decorate the stunning park. Stretch your legs with a hike in the dense forests. Pay a visit to the Aryapala Inspiration and Meditation Center. Visit the Princess Temple - it’s best reached by horse or hiking. Stay at the Terelj Hotel for a sound night’s sleep beside the great outdoors.

Day 8
Terelj National Park, Mongolia
The Terelj Hotel Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Spend the day exploring the park by car, foot and an exciting horseback tour. Chat with a local family and learn about their way of life in the area. Visit the Genghis Khan Statue Complex and marvel at the massive statue of the powerful leader. Return to the Terelj Hotel come evening time, for the last night of your journey.

Day 9
Terelj National Park, Mongolia
The Terelj Hotel Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Drive from the park to Ulaanbaatar. From here, our adventure ends. You can either extend your stay in Mongolia or begin your homeward journey.
