The guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at 8:30am. Drive to the largest Hmong community in Northern Thailand. Very few visitors frequent this village. Stop and visit the Tribal Museum for an introduction to hilltribes in the area along the way. Once in the Hmong village, learn about the unique culture at the Local Wisdom Learning Center. View the locals donning their traditional costume. The community is working on a progressive reforestation project called FORRU. Visit a few of the surrounding villages, before sitting down to lunch at Mon Cham and enjoying an incredible view of the lowlands. In the afternoon, visit the Mae Sa Elephant Camp. Enjoy the elephant mothers and their young, adorable babies. The last stop of the day is at the Elephant Poo Poo Paper Camp. Elephant dung is literally turned into paper at this environmentally-friendly location!

Start your adventurous day off with a ride in a 4X4 luxury vehicle to Chiang Dao. The first stop is at a local market where you can learn about the ingredients used to make the food that will fuel your trek. You have the option to watch an elephant show here. Step off land and onto an authentic bamboo raft along the gentle rapids for a scenic river voyage. Have lunch at a Karen village and chat with the tribe famous for their neck-stretching tactics. Trek a relatively easy journey to the Palong Village Pang Daeng Nai. Meet your host in the village. You can learn to cook, relax or explore. Overnight in the village in a comfortable bed at the home of your host.

Wake up in nature at your local host’s home. Enjoy a tasty breakfast prepared hot and fresh just for you. After breakfast, take a short tour and learn about the Royal Project initiatives being taken in the village. Enjoy a typical authentic dish at a local restaurant. Trek back to the Karen village. Visit the expansive Chiang Dao Cave - a cave system in Doi Chiang that is home to the third-highest mountain in Thailand. Pause at an orchid farm on your drive back to Chiang Mai. Take time to enjoy the fragrant bloom. From here, our program ends and you have the option to either extend your stay in the colorful North of Thailand or make the journey back home.

The Remote Lands Guides were excellent. The cars used for transportation were roomy and clean. The hotels were 5 star and their attention to detail was over the top.
