Upon arrival in Phrae, your guide will greet you and escort you to a local restaurant for lunch, before embarking on the tour. This afternoon, you will visit Phae Muang Phi. The park is full of small-to-medium size geological formations of various shapes and sizes. Estimated to be as old as 30,000 years, the mushroom-shaped rock pillars are the result of subsidence and erosion over the centuries. Muang Phi translated means ‘ghost town’ as the park is the subject of many local fables. Return to Phrae and check in to the Heuan Na Na Boutique Hotel for a good night’s rest.

Once a logging hub of the British and Danish, foreign business withdrew when resources ran out. Next, visit Khum Chao Luang, residence of Phrae’s former ruler. Built in 1892, the architectural style reflects a fusion of European and Thai influence, a remnant of the teak logging past. Following lunch, visit some of Phrae’s most fascinating temples – Wat Luang and Wat Phra That Cho Hae. Spend the night at Auangkham Resort, a boutique hotel in the center of Lampang. |
