It is said that a Guatavita Indian chief covered his body in gold and submerged himself in the waters to honor his wife. Our vacation to Costa Rica was wonderful. All guides and drivers were top notch and we never had to wait for anything. I would book again using Ladatco Tours.

We have traveled to South America on several occasions and have used Ladatco (Michelle) to set up our tours/itineraries.  We have always felt like we saw the MOST interesting things that were especially geared for the interests of our group members.  We also think our schedules have made the most use of our time, money and logistics.  I highly recommend Ladatco to plan a South American vacation.

Very good trip and service. Was where they needed to be at all times. Provided very good drivers and guides, spoke English well, wee flexible with our desires, and gave us consistent guides that got to know our family. Coordinated well with our overall trip planner. Trip was great and the guide provided a lot of local color with our trip -- as sometimes we like to go off the beaten track and experience more local places. Perfect fit for our family.

Ladatco did a great job putting together our trip. Our local guides were really great. The Gourmet Food tour in Lima was a wonderful way to start our trip! One of the owners, Samantha, was our guide and gave us a culinary experience to remember. Our guide, Ramiro, with Metropolitan Tours, was so knowledgeable and so passionate about Peruvian history and the time of the Incas! we really enjoyed our time with him and learned so much from him. The visit to the Quillot village was an experience we will never forget. And, of course, Macchu Picchu and the other Incan ruins were awe-inspiring. The second Ramiro, in Quito, was another wonderful guide. We loved our hotels and wished we had more time to enjoy the amenities of Hotel B in Lima, the Sol y Luna in the Sacred Valley and Casa Gangotena in Quito. The Petrel is a beautiful small ship with an excellent crew. Our naturalist, Nico Andrade, was just great. He was knowledgeable, funny and kept us busy! The food was just OK.

We had to cancel our Ladatco tour so I cannot comment on anything except the scope of the planned activities and the professionalism and assistance provided us as we had to change our plans and return to the US. The tour activities which were planned covered a broad range of interests -- antiquities, food, art -- in Lima and Cuszo. The Marriott hotel in Lima was first-rate in all respects. The assistance provided to us as we had to cancel the tour and return to the US because of illness was exceptional. We were escorted through check in by a person provided by Ladatco tours who ensured my husband had a wheelchair and an escort that took us through the Lima airport security and right to our gate.

Ladatco connected us with Metropolitan Touring, based in Quito. Our land guide, Gabriela, and driver, Carlos, gave us great tours of Quito and Otavalo. We especially enjoyed meeting the indigenous Andean pan flute maker and weaver. The crew of the Isabela II made us feel welcome and comfortable on board. The 3 Galapagos naturalists (Dennis, Nancy and Christopher) were very knowledgeable. It was a treat to learn about the flora and fauna from them.

Ladatco made sure our trip was perfect. They were so good that we didn't even know all the behind-the-scenes work they did, but we know they did it because all the hotels were arranged, all the transportation was handled, and all the tours, drivers, and guides were perfect. The main guide assigned to us was very knowledgeable and spent 5 days with us. He was a great asset.

They were marvelous. We loved the guides and tours arranged in both Iguazu and Buenos Aries. Carlos Barros, our guide in Iguazu, not only introduced us to the history and majesty of the falls but educated us on the flora and fauna of the surrounding rain forest. Elizabeth Georges showed us Buenos Aries from top to bottom in three days and became a friend. Though she was scheduled with another tour group she came by our hotel to see us off on our last day.
