Reykjavik City Tour (6hours):

First we will drive to the presidential residence at Bessastaðir, close to Hafnarfjörður town where the "hidden people" and humans live together in harmony. In Reykjavik enjoy spectacular views from the platforms at Perlan, which is built on the city's hot water tanks. We will also show you the sports and recreation area in Laugardalur, with its geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool.

Marvel at the Snæfellsjökull glacier. The mountain is one of the most renowned sites of Iceland, owing some of its fame to Jules Verne’s A Journey to the Center of the Earth, in which the mountain features. On a sunny day the mystical Snaesfellsjokull glacier appears crystal-like and baby-blue on the Western horizon. We visit Hallgrímskirkja church and the old town center with the Icelandic parliament Alþingi and the town hall. Shoppaholics will delight in Kringlan Shopping Centre with its 150 shops and restaurants, where the guest could eat lunch. Your skilled guide would also be able to recommend, according to your preferences.

Last but not least, a short tour to the neighboring town of Seltjarnarnes where there is an amazing birdlife within the town limits and unique flora during the summer months.

Day 3
Reykjavík, Iceland

Gullfoss, Iceland

Geysir Area, Iceland

Þingvellir, Iceland

Hotel: Hotel Borg
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Golden Circle and Snowmobile on a glacier:

Your driver guide will pick you up at your hotel in Reykjavik in a modified Super Jeep, and head to Nesjavellir and Hengill volcano which is Iceland’s third largest geothermal area and provides Reykjavik with hot water and electricity without polluting. Next stop is Thingvellir national park where the Icelandic parliament was established in 930 AD and the Eurasian- and North American tectonic plates meet, which have formed a large crevice in the lava while slowly drifting apart.

You walk along the area and visit Nikulasargja pool where travelers have thrown in coins which sparkle beautifully in the sunshine at the bottom of the mirror clear water. After exploring the area you continue onwards to the road of Lyngdalsheidi towards Geysir and Gullfoss where we stop for lunch. Seeing the geyser Strokkur spout boiling water 25-30 m high in the air is fantastic nature experience and the Geysir area has numerous other hot springs.

After seeing Iceland's most famous waterfall, Gullfoss up close and listening to its roaring thunder as it cascades 32 metres down the mighty glacial river Hvita we drive a mountain track to Iceland's second largest glacier, Langjokull where you go for a snowmobile ride and blaze across the white plains of the glacier.

The driver guide then takes you across Haukadalsheidi where you'll take a photo stop of the opaque and vivid aquamarine colors of Kerid which is a volcanic crater lake located in the Grímsnes near.

It is one of several crater lakes in the area, known as Iceland's Western Volcanic Zone. The caldera, like the other volcanic rock in the area, is composed of a red (rather than black) volcanic rock.

Additional activity included: Snowmobile ride 2 single ride.

On a clear day we get great photo ops of both glaciers. Photography Tour: Nature & Landscape

Iceland is in many ways ideal for landscape photography. In the summer there is daylight all day and all night. The clear and pure air gives great brightness which is ideal for photography.

Secluded sea cliffs brimming with birdlife or black lifeless lava deserts, icy cold glaciers or boiling mud pools surrounded by volcanoes, green hills or deep blue mountain lakes... it´s all there and for the most part, not too far apart. In a single day you can shoot an incredible variety of landscapes.

OBS: Photographer available upon request.

Day 6
Reykjavík, Iceland

Hotel: Hotel Borg
Meals: Breakfast

Thorsmork Nature Park + Eyjafjallajokull

- 4x4 tour to Iceland's favourite hiking area (Hiking activity possible under request)

Thorsmork is a wide valley named after Thor, the Viking God of Thunder. Surrounded by 3 glaciers, Myrdalsjokull, Eyjafjallajokull and Tindfjallajokull in the southern part of Iceland, it offers a great picturesque panorama and landscape. The rugged nature of green valleys, steep mountains, clear creeks and wild rivers make Thorsmork one of the country´s most popular hiking grounds and a favourite place for many Icelander's.

Itinerary for Thorsmork Nature Reserve

It´s only about 160 km east of Reykjavik but the last 30 km is one of greatest strips of mountain track you encounter – with unabridged rivers and streams to cross in our strong and reliable Super Jeeps: A great 4x4 track and a lot of fun.

We´ll take a photo stop by the glacier just below the crater of Eyjafjallajokull volcano. In Thorsmork we stop for a few hours to enjoy the fantastic landscape, have lunch and/ or take a short hike. On the way back you have the opportunity to take short hikes through small but magnificent canyons with a hidden waterfall at the end.

Day at leisure

(SUGGESTION: Entrance tickets to museums under request- National Museum of Iceland)

The National Museum of Iceland’s permanent exhibition, Making of a Nation - Heritage and History in Iceland, is intended to provide insight into the history of the Icelandic nation from the Settlement to the present day.

The aim is to cast light on the Icelanders’ past by placing the cultural heritage preserved by the National Museum in a historical context, guided by the question: What makes a nation?

The exhibition includes about 2,000 objects, dating from the Settlement Age to the present, as well as about 1,000 photographs from the 20th century.

The exhibition is conceived as a journey through time: it begins with the ship in which medieval settlers crossed the ocean to their new home; it ends in a modern airport, the Icelanders’ gateway to the world.
