Evening arrival of your flight in Campeche, Mexico. You will be greeted at the airport by your personal host and be taken by private transfer to your beautiful hacienda. Unwind and relax from your journey.

Day 2
Campeche, Mexico
Hacienda Uayamon Breakfast

Vehicle transfer to the Edzná ruins (about 1 hour) with your expert guide. This once-great regional capital allows a view of several successive architectural styles including: Petén, Chenes, Puuc and Tardio. Its inhabitants also developed an advanced system of hydraulic works. You will visit the Main Plaza where most of the monumental buildings at the site are located as well as the Great Acropolis, which holds the beautiful five-story building and the Small Acropolis, where you can appreciate an impressive modeled stucco mask.

After visiting Edzná, proceed by vehicle transfer to Campeche (55 minutes) for a recommended lunch at a local restaurant.

Later, in the afternoon, visit the town of Campeche with your personal guide. Granted the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, the city of Campeche has a strong and elegant historical atmosphere. Built in the Renaissance style of a chessboard, the historical center of Campeche includes highlights such as its charming colonial architecture, the Dr. Roma Museum of Stela, the Museum of Mayan Culture, the Casa de Artesanias, and the Royal Road to Hecelchakan, as well as a variety of historical churches, cathedrals and 18th century military fortresses.

After visiting Campeche, vehicle transfer to your hacienda (40 minutes) to relax. You will enjoy a private musical performance at a centuries-old chappel within the hacienda.

Day 3
Merida, Mexico
Hacienda San José Breakfast, Lunch

Private transfer to visit the Uxmal ruins with your expert guide (1.5 hour transfer). Uxmal was founded about 500 A.D. by Hun Uitzil Chac Tutul Xiu. For generations Uxmal was ruled over by the Xiu family and was the most powerful site in western Yucatan. The Maya architecture here is considered matched only by that of Palenque in elegance and beauty. You will tour the site not with a tour guide but with a specialized scholar, in order to retain a more meaningful experience.

At the end of the day, your driver will bring you to the magnificent Hacienda San José Cholul (50 minutes). Hacienda San José Cholul is an impeccably restored hacienda dating to the seventeenth century, now a five-star hotel.

Explore its tranquil gardens, swim its dramatic pool and breathtaking cenote, relax at the Maya spa. Dine on delicious local recipes in and out of doors, in high back-country style.

Day 4
Merida, Mexico
Hacienda San José Breakfast, Lunch

Private vehicle transfer to the Xocempich sinkhole (1 hour, 30 minutes). You will have exclusive access to the Xocempich sinkhole where you will have lunch by the abutting cliffs with the most exquisitely prepared regional food. Later, you will be able to swim in the sinkhole and enjoy the private area at your leisure.

In the afternoon, vehicle transfer to Izamal (1 hour, 20 minutes) to visit the site with your personal guide. Izamal is a UNESCO world heritage site—where almost every structure is egg-yolk yellow. Izamal a living Maya town and art colony. Your expert guides lead you to all of Izamal’s principal sites and explain its intriguing blend of Maya, Spanish and modern cultures. You will also visit Maya artisans’ homes and workshops and witness the creation of their magnificent crafts.

In the evening, return to Hacienda San José (30 minutes).

Day 5
Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa Breakfast

Depart your hacienda after breakfast to drive to Chichén Itzá. Visit the ruins of Chichén Itzá with your expert guide.

The pre-Columbian archeological zone of Chichén Itzá is also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Highlights include the Temple of Kukulan, the Great Ball Court, Temple of the Warriors, and Akab Dzib. Your guide will be an expert on the site and will be able to give you the full history for a complete experience.

Then, you will have exclusive, private access to one of the sinkholes which famously dot the Yucatan’s forests. You will enjoy swimming and relaxation at your leisure, having the clear waters of the natural pools all to yourself, followed by a gourmet picnic prepared for you to enjoy the surroundings, away from the tourists.

In the afternoon, continue on to the Caribbean coast to your resort on the Mayan Riviera. You may spend your first evening relaxing on the beach at your leisure.

Day 6
Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa Breakfast, Lunch

Private guided tour of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere. A delicious picnic lunch will be provided.

Explore the beauty of the biosphere with your expert guide. You will walk through the rainforest as your guide explains the flora and fauna of the region. See the untouched ruins of Muyil on your way in. Enjoy continuing on through the lush forest to the Chunyaxche Lagoon, where you will board a small boat and explore the area. Float on freshwater canals built by the Mayans centuries ago and enjoy swimming, floating, and fun in the freshwater lagoon, followed by a private transfer back to your resort.

As you return, you will visit Tulum with your personal guide. Tulum is the site of a Pre-Columbian Mayan walled city that served as a major port for the ruin city of Coba. Located on 39 ft cliffs over the turquoise Caribbean Sea, the Tulum fort served as a defense against invasion for the Mayans.

In the evening, you will have a private tequila tasting session at the Maroma with an expert.

Day 7
Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa Breakfast, Snack

You will go on a snorkeling excursion with your personal guide, and private boat. The boat will take you out into the reef in front of the Maroma Resort. The clear waters and the serene beaches of the Mayan Riviera make for a unique experience, and you will be taken to the best part to snorkel near the resort.

After your snorkeling excursion, you may enjoy your final evening on the beaches to relax at your leisure, or partake in the Maroma's many offerings of activities. In the evening, you will have a candelit dinner on the beach.

Day 8
Cancún, Mexico
None Breakfast

You will be taken by private transfer to Cancún Airport for your international flight home.
