Morning 10:00am Meet your English speaking guide in the lobby of your hotel and taxi to the Alhambra for a private, guided visit of this UNESCO World Heritage site. During the period of Muslim domination of Spain, Granada was the finest city on the peninsula.
This hilltop fortress-palace of the Nasrid kings, the last Muslim rulers in Spain, is the most remarkable monument to Moorish art and architecture in Spain. Much has been written about the fortress, the palace, its patios and gardens, but somehow nothing can really prepare visitors for the experience. The Alcazaba is the Alhambra's Muslim fortress dating from the 11th to the 13th centuries, with lovely views of the city from the tops of its towers. The Nazarid palace is the centerpiece of the Alhambra, and is noted for the intricacy of its stonework. In addition to the Alhambra, our visit will also include the Generalife, the summer palace of the sultans set in the lush Alhambra harem gardens, with lazy fountains and tranquil pools. Entrance tickets included.
