Description

Meet your guide in the lobby of the hotel for your half day tour of Santiago’s historic center. Founded in the 9th century when the remains of the apostle James was discovered in Galicia and the Apostle James (Santiago) was declared the patron saint of Spain. Visit the impressive Cathedral and its museum. The work on the Cathedral of Santiago, built to house the saint’s body, began in the 11th century and is Romanesque in style.  It’s most outstanding feature is the “Portico of Glory” with its beautiful stone carved statues. See the Plaza do Obradoiro and the Hostal de los Reyes Catolicos.  Walk with your guide through the old town and see churches like Santa Salomé or monasteries such as San Martín Pinario. Entrance tickets included.

Our guides were very knowledgable and fun. They took care of our cabs, entrance tickets, etc. They spent a lot of time with us and were able to answer any questions we had as well as recommending activities and restaurants in the area. They made our experience memorable!

We used Valesa guides in Menorca, Valencia and Barcelona. They were all excellent. Their vehicles  were spacious and clean. The guides were knowledgeable and flexible for the various desires of a group of 8. I would use them again.

Great honeymoon

By: Corgilover

Valesa Cultural Services assisted our travel agent Deb Miller for our honeymoon. They were extremely nice and genuine. Jessica at Valesa even called one of our tour guides just so she can check up on us. There were a few snags to our itinerary that she helped square away immediately. The hotels that they chose were so lovely and luxurious. We also enjoyed the touristy sites and the free time on our own. The only thing that we found interesting was that all our private tour guides were on the older side. Nothing wrong with older retired people but they seemed surprised that we were their clients for the day. I guess they were used to an older crowd rather than two young honeymooners. Besides that fact we really enjoyed all that they could provide knowledge wise. I would suggest for any night time activity with a private guide to have a younger individual. Our tapas tour in Barcelona was great but at times was a little awkward to make conversation with our older tour guide.

We hired a private tour guide for a half day tour of the Prado Museum and a half day city tour of Madrid. She was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and made the two days enjoyable and memorable. The Prado Museum has over 5,000 artworks, but she knew exactly which to see and provided insight on the artist, history and culture, as well as the art.

Great provider in Spain!

Spain was our first stop during our Europe vacation, so Valesa Cultural Services was our first contact with Europe agencies...and they were spectacular. The guides we had in Madrid, Toledo and Barcelona were exceptional. Our guide in Madrid had excellent art history knowledge, which was very helpful when visiting cathedrals and museums, as we were not art aficionados. We would definitely recommend them to anyone traveling in the region, and would gladly use them again if we return to Spain or Portugal.
