Pompeii & Herculaneum
You will meet your captain at tender mooring; he will wait for you handling the Onirikos arrival board. He will escort you to Sorrento where you will meet your Professional English-speaking guide in order to experience a unique excursion.
Pompeii is located on a plateau of volcanic formation, on the southern slope of Vesuvius, about 30 meters above sea level and at a short distance from the mouth of the river Sarno, in a striking position, praised even by Seneca in Roman times. In 62 AD, a devastating earthquake caused severe damage to buildings in the city; the following years were used in the impressive work of restructuring, still ongoing at the time of the fatal eruption of Vesuvius on 24 August 79 AD, when Pompeii was buried completely and permanently by a thick rain of lapilli. A complete immersion in the daily life of the city at the moment of the eruption in 79 A.D.
You will visit the forum with its public and religious buildings, including a patrician house (domus).The ancient cobble stoned streets, already intersecting at right angle into each other, will reveal their brothels, their shops and bars, the theater and the plaster casts, moulds of the people crystallized in the moment and position in which they died.
After Pompeii visit your driver will escort you Herculaneum (in modern Italian Ercolano) that was an ancient Roman town destroyed by volcanic pyroclastic flows in 79 A.D.
After the tour your guide will escort you back to the Sorrento port where you will meet your captain who will escort you to the Capri port onboard your private motorboat.
