Segesta, Trapani and Erice Tour
You will meet your guide at ship dock or at tender mooring; he will wait for you handling the Onirikos arrival board.
The guide will introduce you to your driver. They will escort you in the Palermo downtown in order to enjoy a unique experience.
First you will stop near the magnificent Temple of Segesta. It will appear like it was built the day before. Segesta's ancient Greek temple can make a valid claim to being the best preserved in the world, and its amphitheatre boasts a hilltop position on Mount Barbaro second to none. Then your professional guide will take you to the medieval town of Erice, situated nearly 3,000 feet above sea level and surrounded by ancient Elimi and Phoenician walls. Erice takes a shape of an equilateral triangle and it is a lovely place to spend an afternoon wandering around the medieval streets, with their baroque balconies and flowering vines. You will also visit a 14th-century Gothic Catalan-style church, also called the Castle of Venus because it was built on the site of the ancient temple of Venus, where you can enjoy a splendid Trapani panorama, the western coast and the Egadi islands. You will spend some time strolling around the town’s charming old stone streets with your professional English-Speaking Guide.
In the afternoon you will visit the amiable small city called Trapani. Trapani, winding design and baroque architecture in bright stone, extends out into the sea in its characteristic shape of a scythe, with the majestic Tower of Ligny rising from its extreme point. Visiting the town of Trapani is like emerging yourself in the diverse historical eras. Every corner is characterized by monuments, churches and buildings which narrate the town’s history over the course of various centuries.
After the visit your driver will escort you back to the Port.
