Born on the waterways of Patagonia and sailing out of Punta Arenas, Chile & Ushuaia, Argentina; The Ventus Australis joined its sister ship Stella Australis as the only passenger vessels that can venture through the narrow fjords of Tierra del Fuego and disembark at fabled Cape Horn. We are the only cruise line who’s passengers get to walk on Cape Horn (weather permitting) on a regular basis. In 2021, the World Cruise Awards chose us as Best Expedition Cruise in the World.

The purpose-built Stella Australis exploration vessel is ideal for discovering the fjords of Patagonia. Onboard, the décor in each of the 100 cabins is low-key though comfortable, while spacious lounge areas and observation decks let the stunning landscape and views do the talking.


Australis' new ship, the Ventus Australis launched in January 2018 with 4 night, one-way itineraries between Punta Arenas and Ushuaia. The 100 cabin ship is designed to give Ventus Australis the extreme maneuverability necessary to the navigate narrow fjords and channels of Tierra del Fuego.

Great Bucket List Experience

We cruised from the Chilean side to the Argentinian side for 4 nights/5 Days. -The staff and tour leaders were wonderful -We had a nice international group of people from around the world on the trip -The food was fine but nothing amazing and what I expected -We liked that it was not a formal trip and there were many places to read alone as well as meet new people. -The views and trips on land were terrific Would definitely recommend doing it

I can’t say enough positive things about this trip and the company. They really know this trip and rae expert at delivering on all expectations. Efficient services and excursions were supplemented by a friendly, helpful crew. Focus on safety was excellent. I highly recommend this cruise.

This trip was amazing, the guides & waiter staff were excellent . Daily adventures were always different & to be lucky enough to land on Cape Horn even though for a very short time was incredible.
