Calvados Club Luxury Travel - Croatia

All guides were great.

This is the only way to see Croatia! The guides and drivers were positively the best that we have ever encountered and all of the hotels were absolutely wonderful!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience with this company, enjoying our hotels and tours immensely. The highlights were the Hotel Bellevue in Dubrovnik, Croatia; the private boat tour of the islands near Dubrovnik; the Hotel Monte Mulini in Rovinj, Croatia; and the Chef's Table dinner at Hotel Monte Mulini. Some lowlights were the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera in Punta Skala. It is very isolated and too far from the town of Zadar. In order to go to Zadar, it is a quite expensive taxi ride away, so we were not motivated to eat dinner anywhere but at the resort, and both meals were mediocre. The Falkensteiner itself felt like a Disney World resort (not in a good way) with lots of families with small children and a massive hotel that felt like a giant cruise ship. Maid service was spotty, seemingly difficult to get good service with the large quantity of rooms they had to manage.

Our guide, Zrinka (sp?) was fantastic, a local professor with a great sense of humor - essential with our group of 9! We enjoyed the history of Croatia and Dubrovnik on our drive to a vineyard and wine tasting in a very nice, comfortable luxury Mercedes van. One at the vineyards we piled into trucks and drove up into the terraces with the winemaker, followed by a tasting...and purchasing..of some delicious Croatian wines. Following this we then headed to the oyster beds where we boarded a boat to a private island to enjoy fresh Croatian oysters followed by mussles, local wine and grapa. Z was very accommodating to changes to the schedule! We drove to the top of the cable car and then took the ride down, to be met by our driver. Z then accompanied us into the Old Town giving us the history and answering questions. We were so happy with our guide, she was accommodating of any changes from the original tour, she was insightful, very knowledgeable and charming. We would highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic, Lionel organised everything beautifully. The Hotels were great, small rooms but big enough. The Tours were excellent and you could enjoy all the tour or have shorter time if you wanted and change a tour if you were tired. I would certainly use Lionel again and will be passing on his name to our friends

Excellent! the boat and skipper were perfect and the hotels were wonderful. Our two drivers were punctual and courteous.

We recently ended a boat charter in Split and were greeted in port by such a wonderful guide and driver who whisked us away for an excellent tour of Diocletian's Palace. Our guide was not only extremely knowledgeable, but she was a joy to be with. She spoke perfect English and was able to maneuver around the large groups so that we never felt crowded or overwhelmed while touring the palace. She recommended a wonderful place for lunch after our tour which we enjoyed immensely.

Calvados was the main operator of our Croatian honeymoon. Dolores (our agent) was very prompt and responsive to all of our questions. She planned an excellent trip and the drivers, hotels, etc. were all first class! We did run into one issue were our hotel accidentally threw away our souvenirs on accident. With the help of Dolores, we were able to get the hotel to reimburse us for all incurred costs quickly. We would use Calvados in the future for any trip to Croatia!

Calvados Club Luxury was a wonderful travel company. They helped plan our honeymoon and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Matina Bubalo. She was professional, friendly and available for anything that we needed. I would use them again for a trip to Croatia.

The driver met our group of 6 people at the dock in Split after our week of sailing in the Croatian Islands. The Private City Guide was excellent and we had a very nice lunch be for catching our flight to Paris. The transportation transfer and private city guide were both first class.

Calvados Club did a fantastic job of planning our trip to Croatia. We wanted to see several different cities and cover a lot of ground. We flew into Zagreb and departed a week later out of Dubrovnik. Calvados arranged all of our accommodations, drivers and tour guides and we loved every bit of it. The tour guides were fantastic (Ivana in Plitvice Lakes and Alberto in Dubrovnik especially), the drivers were professional, timely and helped us see and understand so much about Croatia (especially Anna and Oggy) and each hotel was the exact right place to stay for that location. And I thought the prices were very reasonable considering what we wanted to do and see. Highly recommend!

Excellent, the driver was knowledgeable and the local guide was very informative. Each of them spoke solid English. They also knew of a special local restaurant that we all enjoyed.

Everything went as planned. The transfers between airport and lodging went smoothly and the drivers were very polite. The walking tours in both Dubrovnik and Split were great. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with.

Our family had a FABULOUS trip to Croatia ans we appreciated every detail. The hotels, guides, drivers, and staff were all superb. Can’t wait to go back sometime!

To say our trip was amazing is an understatement! We soooo enjoyed Croatia thanks to Calvados! The hotels were over the top, although Fermai in Split was our least favorite. Linda was our favorite guide and her English was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed her. Our boat rides with Mario and skippers were beyond perfect as well....I had severe back trouble and they were sooo kind and accommodating. We loved that we had Mario for both boat days.....he is outstanding. We also loved Plitvice.....NO ONE should go to Croatia without going there....magnificent. Dubrovnick and our guide Patricia were also wonderful. The Maslina stay was beyond amazing.....probably favorite hotel of all...loved all the patio areas and bar and outdoor dining and ability to walk/lounge by the sea. Staff was outstanding! Spa was awesome...highly recommend Eva for fantastic massage. only complaint was our mini bar only had water and juices. Blue Doors restaurant was okay....but all the others recommended were gre

We would highly recommend Calvados Club to others - all of our guides and drivers were very professional and knowledgeable, and we felt safe and relaxed during the entire trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Bale, Split and Dubrovnik!

Our trip to Slovenia was well organized. The guides were very knowledgeable and made each experience unique and unforgettable. We can’t wait to return and see more of this wonderful country.

Calvados and Martina in particular were great. Arranged all of our contacts within Croatia including all guides, hotels, boat transfers and rental cars. We had one issue when there was a miscommunication about when a rental car was to be picked up which led to a lost evening (waiting around for the rental car company). But it wasn't too bad as our hotel had a beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant. Martina apologized for the mistake and there were no issues with the car the next day.

My girls had an amazing time in Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik! Everything was seamless from the transportation to hotel too planned activities and guides. Our favorite places were Hvar and Dubrovnik- gorgeous blue water and amazing history.

Martina was our contact from Calvados for our Croatia and Montenegro trip and really delivered a wonderful experience for my family. We had one of our planned activities canceled due to weather and she quickly rescheduled our itinerary without us missing a beat. We really enjoyed all of our tour guides and adventure guides throughout our time in Croatia! They were always friendly, professional and right on time. The selection of activities was varied and outstanding. We enjoyed the accommodations too. Unique and stylish! While the whole thing felt worth it in aggregate, once we got over there and saw what the prices actually were of things, it felt like we had paid a very high premium in advance. That said, we were having such a great time we tried to just put that our of our minds and enjoy the moment!

While I did not have any direct contact with this tour operator (as I communicated with my travel agent in the US), we were very happy with all of the hotels, guides, and transportation arranged by the tour operator. The trip was seamless from start to finish.

Had a terrific trip. just remember in Croatia its Kunas, not Euros. Seamlessly executed itinerary. Would recommend

Amazing!!! We had a few questions about our boat transfer one day, and they immediately responded with the most helpful information. Everything was perfect.

They were so responsive. We had a few changes to our itinerary during the trip and it was handled right away.

Sailing was a great way to see the country and was very relaxing. We were never sailing too long - each day we’d dock somewhere for an excursion and/or dinner so it didn’t feel like we were “trapped” on the boat. The staff on the boat - Davor, Una and Boris - was excellent. Friendly, warm and accommodating. Davor was coming up with “surprise” excursions which added to a great experience. Una was always looking out for our needs and Boris was an excellent chef and super sweet. An excellent team. We loved ALL the guides - again very friendly and knowledgable. Even the drivers who usually are quiet acted as guides - again loved them all. Our favorite guide was Kristina in Split. We could have spent days with her! As far as hotels, loved Villa Dubrovnik. Everything about the hotel was a 10. In Split, we loved Santa Lucia’s location and rooms. Service was okay.

I can’t say enough about this perfectly planned trip I just had with my husband and 2 daughters. Every strep of the way was perfection! The drivers for all the transfers were on time, very polite and friendly and they often did above and beyond their job with fun conversation. The activities that Dolores organized were so enjoyable for all of us… my husband and daughters (21 & 22yrs). Maria in Istria, Victoria in Split, John in Hvar and Daniela in Dubrovnik. We thoroughly enjoyed the city tours, the incredible winery, and the beautiful hike. All the tour guides were fun and extremely knowledgeable. All the hotels selected by Dolores were truly 5* experiences. We enjoyed all the wonderful amenities. I must give an extra thank you to Maslina Resort. The staff at this hotel were above and beyond friendly and welcoming. Thank you Dolores for an incredible trip. We loved Croatia and plan to return to see more of this beautiful country.

Excellent. Each of my tours was on time and well coordinated . Each one was exactly what we wanted. Coordinating the transportation with the tours made me feel at ease. The boat and staff were fabulous and all recommendations were outstanding

Our experience was wonderful. From start to finish everything was perfect. The transfers, accommodations and tours were spot on.

Everything was paid and ready as planned. Happy with logistics and satisfied with service. However, there is no comparison between Excelsior Hotel in Dubrovnik to Heritage Santa Lucia in Split; none! There is simply no way to arrive from the former to the latter without experiencing disappointment in location, service level, amenities, and overall quality.

My husband and I used a lake shore travel to plan our honeymoon in Croatia and Calvados exceeded our expectations. Every single one of our transfers/tours/experiences were amazing! Our tour guide Tihan in Dubrovnik was one of the highlights of our trip. The truffle and wine day was also a BIG highlight and our tour guide and driver were incredible. We missed one of our ferries and were able to contact our representative in Croatia who was able to sort our our new ferry time and was extremely helpful.

We are convinced that Calvados employs the best of the best! Every single driver and guide was top notch. Full of great tidbits and personal stories as well as well versed on history and statistics of the county (we ask lots of questions). They were timely and sensitive to all our needs. We loved every single one!

Our experiences with Cavados Club were spectacular. We did two tours and both were top-notch. The Croatia itinerary developed by Calvados was magnificent and perfectly executed. We loved it.

It was not a good experience. Calvados got the date wrong for our pick up at the boat . We had to wait in the extreme high heat outdoors for 45 minutes and then had to call a cab.

Calvados Club Luxury Travel was wonderful. We appreciated having a local advisor available to help us if any issues arose, and she was able to provide us with an upgrade to a private boat tour.
