Unbelievable Resort

The total Four Seasons experience in an amazing natural habitat. Very close to Liberia Airport (for a resort destination) so easy transfers. All services in the hotel were top notch - restaurants (especially Di Mare, book that in advance prior to arrival as it isn't open every night and does fill up). The Kids for All Seasons was such a hit with one of my toddlers that he begged to go back each day; it's included in the resort fee. We also would recommend the surf lessons which were the perfect speed for our 6-year old's first time surfing. But overall the staff were the most amazing part - no detail too small, always accommodating, and looking after our family to ensure we were having a great vacation. We'd love to go back.

we would highly recommend the four Seasons for the accommodations and the service and friendliness of the staff.  The golf course is wonderful.  And having the airport so close is a big plus.

Beautiful resort.  A wonderful, quiet, secluded slice of paradise.  The villa's are stunning and very comfortable (and the plunge pool was heaven).  The food was outstanding in all restaurants and the staff were the most pleasant and happy people we've ever experienced.  The spa is top notch as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over our 7 days with our family totaling 11 people. Our 3 bedroom suites were spacious, well appointed, and kept meticulously clean by the housekeeping staff. The meals in every restaurant were excellent The restaurant choices were perfect.. The help specializes in 2 phrases: "absolutely" and "my pleasure". The wait staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and were able to provide anything we wanted. The water sports were plentiful and easy to partake. Our children and grandchildren went kayaking, snokeling, and paddle boarding. They used the pools and swam in the ocean.Golf course was outstanding. The grass tennis court was excellent. The pool staff and cart drivers were always available to attend to our every need. The concierge and front desk staff (Diego Mora) were outstanding. We were greeted with a 50th anniversary cake and other goodies when we arrived. In summary, we loved everything.

This is a nice resort with great service. I knew there was going to be some construction during our stay, that said, it needed to be updated as they are doing, so I don't know how the renovated resort is. The beaches were fun for the kids. There were a lot of hermit crabs which they had a blast collecting and playing with!

Amazing Family Trip to Costa Rica

Gwen at Lake Forest Travel assisted my family and two other families with 6 kids total. We had a perfect vacation and would go back to the 4 Seasons Costa Rica in a heart beat. The hotel and grounds were beautiful, the staff was friendly, food and spa were also great. There was plenty of kid-friendly activities, but there were also places to go if you wanted some "kid free" time. Such a wonderful experience.

Amazing resort with Kids Club

Our stay at the Four Seasons Costa Rica was amazing and one that we will always cherish. Food, service, and accommodations were top-notch (highly recommend the canopy suite with plunge pool). Two terrific beaches (one was more lively and geared towards water sports, the other was more quiet and peaceful), and a kids club that our kids still can't stop talking about. They had such great and varied activities planned for the children (nature hikes, bird watching tours, golf & tennis lessons, hermit crab races, science experiments, and more). Kids never wanted to leave. Activities for the whole family included stargazing nights, s'mores on the beach, and a "Trail of the Giants" tour on the golf course that we highly recommend (the views from everywhere on the Peninsula Papagayo were stunning). It was tough to come back!

Do not hesitate to visit this amazing property from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you will be completely spoiled. This hotel is incredibly focused on customer experience in every way. The beach, the pools, the rooms were perfect. The food....the best. Every single, meal, drink, snack, etc was amazing. If you are a foodie, this is a great property. Be warned, the food is pricey, but so incredibly worth it. The hotel team members remembered our name and what drinks we preferred. They went out of their way and honestly treated us as we were the only people on the property. We will definitely be back, but first most work off the 10 pounds I gained while in Costa Rica!

Amazing! Beautiful property where every room has a gorgeous view! The food was fantastic and the service very attentive. The only disappointment ting aspect was the two double (instead of queen) beds in the room. Many other four seasons properties has a king bed with pullout couch for kids which is much more comfortable. The only way sleep comfortably with children at this property is a suite or adjoining rooms.

Nice But Getting Ready to Go Through Major Renovations

By: Michel

Reviewed on: 15 Aug 2017

We were only there for two nights. We have a canopy suite with plunge pool. The suites were lovely. However, the plunge pool and patio were not very private and were outside the main suite door. You had to remember to bring your key. The complex is massive. The golf course is incredible. Service is excellent. They were in the process of shutting down the resort for major renovations. I do not believe they had everything they normally would have (e.g., food).

For anyone who has not been to Costa Rica, the surprises are around every corner. The people, the approach to life, the kind sincerity and the completeness of protection of the environment is sublime. Four Seasons is always spot on and this management team hits all the right notes with a laid back but laser focused approach. We will be certain to return (if only to see the clever Capuchin we had hanging around our room the entire time).

Top notch Four Seasons experience

We've stayed at various Four Seasons resorts, and the Costa Rica at Papagayo is now one of our favorites! It's flanked by two lovely beaches and large pools (all uniformly about 3.5-4ft so our 5yo was quite comfortable), and great options for watersports and excursions. We (especially our kid) had a great time on the Witch's Rock Canopy Tour and the Palo Verde jungle cruise. Dining options were varied and delicious, and we appreciated the morning breakfast buffet included in our Virtuoso amenities; there are also acai bowls and smoothies for those who prefer lighter fare. The canopy suites are quiet (other than the occasional howler monkey), spacious, and beautifully appointed. They are a short walk (up a short steep hill) or golf cart ride from the pools/restaurants but the space made it worth it for us!

Best Resort

I've been spending Christmas Holidays at a warm resort since 1996 and the Four Seasons is the best. It is so well run that everything seems effortless. The facilities are terrific. Not only is there a cardio room but also a weight room and a yoga room. The staff are amazing. They go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and having fun. They seem to genuinely enjoy the guests. The beach Christmas party with Santa Claus was the most fun, for adults and children, I've ever seen. The resort is gorgeous and a great deal of effort goes into maintaining it. The landscaping is lovely and the place is spotlessly clean.
