The Savoy

The Character of London

The Savoy

Situated along the Thames in the heart of the West End, The Savoy is just steps away from the beauty of Covent Garden and within a short taxi or boat ride of renowned landmarks. This 267-room hotel has been totally revamped with a 21st-century sensibility, yet it retains its classic sense of glamour. Choose between Edwardian-style accommodations overlooking the water or art deco stylings with a view of the Strand; discreet butlers service all suites. The Savoy Grill received a bespoke facelift, and is joined by Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill. Martinis and live jazz in the ageless American Bar will cap off the perfect evening.

Hotel Tip

Visit the Savoy Museum, whose highlights include Noel Coward’s cigarette case and Marlene Dietrich’s guest card. –Lauren LaCour Naples, Florida

What a Treat

The Savoy is a beautiful hotel. It was refurbished recently and they did an outstanding job on it. They modernized it but kept the historical feel which makes it such a great hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their high tea, and the room where it is held is absolutely beautiful.

Loved every minute at the Savoy Hotel and all the amenities. From high tea, to dinner at the Savoy Grill, to delicious breakfast overlooking the Thames with delicious food, impeccable service, and most helpful concierge service, all was "brilliant". Location is excellent as well. Cannot wait to return!

We enjoyed our stay and our room very much. The service was great and the hotel is in a great location. Simpsons is not as good as remembered it - food didn't seem fresh or first rate.

The Savoy is our favorite hotel in London. The service and staff are superb. Rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location of the hotel is amazing. Easy short walk to Covent Garden and the theatre district. A 10 minute walk to Trafalgar Sq and the National Gallery. So many first rate dining options nearby including Rules, the oldest serving resturant in London. The American Bar is very popular and there is lots of history associated with it. Dining in the hotel, weather a light lunch or full dinner is a treat. The full english breakfast can't be missed.

Our Favorite Hotel In London

What can I say? The Savoy is an amazing hotel. It is located in a great place in Central London close to the theater district, shopping and many attractions. The staff really pamper you; the food and drink is excellent and quite a variety. My wife loves the spa. We have stayed in many hotels in London over the years, but the Savoy is our favorite. We have stayed there now 3 years in a row and already have booked 4 nights in July 2018!

Wonderful Hotel, Room, Service

By: Worldtraveler

Service is impeccable, rooms are well-appointed and well maintained, breakfast choices and quality are great, bars are wonderful, WIFI is fast. The views over the Thames and Cleopatra's Needle and London Eye are fabulous, both during the day and at night. Breakfast service can be, and often is, sluggish (think - 30 minutes wait from you sit down until they bring anything to drink); better in the restaurant than the cafe. The concierge was not as helpful as one could hope for. Over-all a great location and hotel.

You Get What You Pay For

This hotel is not cheap but it was worth every penny. The staff is top notch and their goal is to make sure you are taken care of during your stay We were there for 7 days and only had one issue which was addressed immediately. Thursday night there was some type of reception/party in the main restaurant and our room overlooked the glass roof of the restaurant. Music got a bit loud as midnight was approaching and we could hear it on the 5th floor. I went downstairs to inquire and they apologized and the music stopped at midnight. The next day the hotel wanted to relocate us to another room in different part of the hotel to ensure our sleep was not disturbed. It basically became a room upgrade and they took care of moving our luggage, etc. Side note; the breakfast at this hotel is good but if it's not included with your rate it's pricey and there is a lot of food. We ate the last 2 days at a coffee shop nearby that quite honestly had better food and was not expensive.

Seen better days

The famous Savoy tries very hard. But it finds itself in a not very fashionable part of town, and that is hard to combat. The room, while very large, lacked certain things which it should not have: there was no make-up mirror. The make-up table, such a thoughtful touch, was in a place somewhat like a closet with one tiny pin light in the very high ceiling high above my head. The afternoon tea was neither plentiful nor delicious. The view was absolutely amazing, but so was the price of the room which facilitated the view. The bed was very comfortable and everything in the room was fine. The bar downstairs was happily crowded but because we were staying at the hotel, there was always a place for us; very nice. Getting to our room required walking up two sets of stairs, going down a hall, turning and going down another hallway and then waiting for the only elevator (a very slow elevator) to take us up to our floor. It did not seem a very elegant way of doing things.

Go to the Savoy. It is historical and elegant. Our breakfasts were delightful. Never a no. Whatever we needed. They treated our 18 month old like a little lady. our room was spacious. We could not say enough good things about this hotel!
