The St. Regis is a great hotel in a stunning location. The exterior of the hotel could use some updating, but the rooms and common areas are excellent. We would absolutely go back.

Needs a facelift

My wife and I compared the St. Regis hotel to the sinking Titanic...lol. Probably back in 1987 it was absolutely beautiful, but in 2015, it's time for a face-lift especially considering the prestigious "St Regis" name it carries. The best part about the St. Regis = location. Their pool and beach come second to none as the luscious landscape of the Napali coast is in your backyard. Each morning was absolutely breathtaking, but again, the hotel itself is quite outdated. Service was lacking. No one seemed to know that it was our honeymoon and although they seemed to try, the service fell short. Here's an example: I made a dinner reservation at the Kauai Grille and our first dinner as husband and wife. I requested a table closest to the glass so we can watch the sunset and was denied the table as it's "first come first serve". I made this reservation a month ago and they couldn't accommodate that? We def heard more "No's" then "Yes's" - Location A++ - Hotel/Service C-

Over rated and outdated and over priced

This place would have been great if it was a Marriot!!! I feel we were completely over charged. The amenities such as pool and outside bar are from the 1980's. Including the unsophisticated staff. Entertainment was a sad singer on a bar stool. Bar nuts in a dirty plastic cup. I could go on and on. We were introduced to our "butler" the first night. It was the last time we saw the joker. They forgot to make my sons pull out bed and didn't have the sheets or blankets for us to make it for him therefore had to call them late at night to help us. Ridiculous since we were spending over $2000 a night. The room was big but terribly planned.lots of really loud sliding doors. You can't use the restroom with out waking people up in the bedroom because there is a window from the bathroom to the bedroom. No hooks for your robe or towels. Again , would be great if I was spending have as much as I did. Thumbs down all the way. It's a good thing the island is beautiful otherwise the stop in Kuaii l

We had a great time at the hotel, the location can't be beat!!! The staff were very friendly and our room was well appointed and the maid service was very good. While we didn't try the fine dinning restaurant because we wanted to explore the local eateries, we did enjoy the other restaurant and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The pool/beach areas were wonderful too. Having said all that, I do feel that for the price the hotel could use freshening up in general.

The unique beach terrain and the morning visits from the Nene birds made our experience feel more rustic Hawaiian, but not rustic in the way that would indicate less service. The service was so amazing!!! The "Unpacking Service" was such a luxury!!! Your clothes are meticulously displayed in the closet. The morning coffee brought into your room each morning in a French press, ahhhh!!! Loved the morning breakfast buffet, and so did the birds, just a slight competition with the amazing array of breakfast foods offered. The "vanilla bread pudding" made with waffles were amazing!!!

Great Hotel if you like kids

The views were amazing. The beach was lovely. It was very peaceful until you went to the pool and lounge areas... kids were everywhere. I didn't expect that since it was a St. Regis hotel. It may have just been the time of year (two weeks before Christmas). I learned that they are about to start renovations, so maybe once the reno is done, it will be a bit less family-centric.

We really enjoyed staying at the St. Regis. It was small enough to be intimate but large enough to have first class amenities. The view from our room was magical! It was easy to get reservations at the restaurants. We really liked the pool and beach area, easy to get chairs and refreshments.
