All the amenities expected of a luxury resort, including championship golf, award-winning tennis, flavorful local cuisine, and beach and cultural activities that combine for the ultimate in resort experiences. Mauna Kea never disappoints

We love going back to the Mauna Kea every year. There is something about this old school hotel that charms us each time. It's the best beach on the Big Island, the long-time staff is friendly, attentive but relaxed. The fairly recently renovated Copper Bar is a great addition--good food, great views. Brunch at the Manta is always a great way to start the day. We'll be back!

You can’t beat the beach or the location. Food and service is always soso but you don’t go to that hotel ...if you want that you go to the four seasons. Always love my stay here

This resort lived up to everything we had read about the establishment. From the welcome and smooth check-in, ocean front room, upgraded luau experience, bottle of champagne, breakfast buffets, the friendly staff; what more could you ask for. The weather and beach were beautiful. We ate at several of the restaurants on the property - all very good. I enjoyed the art walk tour regarding the various pieces of art work at the resort and the thoughtful details that make the resort one i want to visit again.

Tired Hotel

Our stay at the Mauna Kea was less than expected. The hotel has many issues as an aging property. I would not stay there again as I am sure that other properties must be better maintained.
