every once in a while you take a chance on something and it turns out way better than your highest expectations.i would consider a stay at the chateau to be a must if you are visiting the loire valley. on that list of must things to do is dinner with the count and countessa, a magical evening. while it helps to have your own transportation arrangements can be made to tour the countryside surrounding the chateau. it is a bit remote. only regret is we only stayed two nights instead of more.

The Chateau de LaBarre was a pleasant surprise. The count and countess were very charming and shared information about the Chateau's history. Scheduled delightful day trips to places of interest which added to the natural charm and beauty of the area.
