The view is simply sublime from Amanpulo, set on a serene private island – in fact, the name Amanpulo means “peaceful island.” Lovebirds flock here for the remoteness and the lavish yet discreet service, hallmarks of an outstanding romantic retreat. There are 18 villas and 42 casitas (beach pool, beach, hillside, and treetop), each with a spacious wooden deck and lounge chairs as well as a raised Cebu marble bathtub. Sustainability
Our Commitment
Protecting the island and its neighbouring communities is at the heart of Amanpulo, taking sustainability to the forefront of its operations.
The resort employs a desalination plant that through the reverse osmosis method converts sea water into freshwater.
In the coming months, an on-site water purification and glass bottling plant will further elevate the quality of drinking water while decreasing the consumption of single-use plastic bottles.
In preservation of the surrounding waters, one hundred percent of the resort’s waste water is treated and reused in the gardens and fire hydrants.
A dedicated materials recovery facility ensures proper segregation and composting of solid waste, with recyclables sent back to Manila for proper processing.
The turquoise blue waters surrounding Pamalican Island is home to diverse flora and fauna, including the island favourite - the green sea and the hawksbill turtles. Amanpulo has been a favourite nesting site for these sea creatures. Amanpulo has built a turtle nesting site designed to keep the eggs safe.
Through the Small Islands Program of the Andres Soriano Foundation (ASF), Amanpulo has been able to contribute to giving more than just a livelihood to the residents of Manamoc. The resort has been able to assist in providing potable water and electricity to thousands of families, who would otherwise have lacked access to these basic necessities.
