    Our Commitment

Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel is committed to helping in the greatest possible ways, by creating initiatives that enable one to live in harmony with the surrounding nature.

    • The correct recycling of different items such as paper, cardboard, glass bottles, used oil, and organic waste. The hotel uses cornstarch straws and biodegradable containers and cups, only under request.
    • Guests are encouraged to reduce water and energy consumption by reusing towels and sheets in the rooms and suites. Due to the new H&S regulations, drinking bottled water is provided in collaboration with Sky-Ha, a local company that filters and safely processes rainwater. We encourage guests to leave the empty bottles in the room so that Sky-Ha can take care of proper recycling and refilling avoiding plastic waste. Soaps and toiletry amenities are made from local, organic ingredients.
    • Our staff is from the region, as we celebrate the local culture. We have ongoing training to raise awareness about environmental conservation. Reforestation activities are carried out, promoting and caring for the endemic flora of the region.
    • We are certified by the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI) in compliance with the standards of social responsibility activities.
