The Pierre, a Taj Hotel, New York

we had expected The Pierre to be a fabulous hotel, but we had not expected it to be an outstanding hotel!! What truly makes this property exceptional is its people. Everyone we encountered was a professional in the true sense of the word, from elevator attendant (yes, they have elevator attendants!!) to restaurant staff, front desk, doormen and concierge. Everyone went beyond expectations to make our stay memorable, with a genuine love of their work. We cannot thank them enough. Nothing is a problem in that hotel. We so want to return and will again book through Virtuoso. The benefits are incredible!

Very Good Service from the Pierre

if you're looking for a hotel with a great location, this is it. It is old, but the rooms are large and the bathrooms have been redone. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. It's not inexpensive, but nothing in NYC is.

I was delighted to have the option to upgrade to a suite for an additional $100/night. I was also delighted that Tiffany took the time to have a bottle of champagne delivered to my room on my wedding day. It was such a treat provided by Miss Layne.

Classic property, terrific location, talented team. Our birthday celebration stay in NYC was highlited by selecting this hotel......thanks to the perseverance of our travel advisor Karen of Odyssey Travel. The room was tastefully appointed, appropriately equipped, and quiet (14th floor). Staff and service was always available and anticipatory in nature. You will never experience the New York hustle from the people of the Hotel Pierre. Good vibe end to end. Everyone loved the traditional elevator ambience .....complete with the operator who knew your name and floor by the second day.

excellent service & great situation

Our stay was delightful. The entire hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. When thinking of going to NY in the future my husband and I will most diffidently stay at The Pierre. It is so beautiful and very well located to what we enjoying doing in NY.

The Pierre is a classic, old school hotel with fantastic service. They still have elevator operators! We stay for one to two weeks at a time because of the service and its perfect location. From there you can readily walk in Central Park and to many museums and restaurants.

Not my usual hotel, but the Pierre was a great alternative. Terrific central location, lovely clean and comfortable room, and friendly helpful staff. Everyone from the people who operated the elevators to the concierges were great. The only downside was I didn’t like the restaurant food that much. Kind of boring breakfast choices (breakfast was included in the price of the room), but the waitstaff was wonderful.

We've stayed here a number of times and always pleased with staff -- especially folks in the Perrine Cafe for breakfast.

It was good, the service In The restaurant not great but to visitors from the U.K the churlish mainly elderly waiters were what we would expect in New York.

Our favorite hotel in NY. A grand Art Deco with underrated elegance in the 21st Century What further sets this hotel apart is the staff. Our faves are Perrine room for Breakfast and Dinner wait staff and the lovely elevator operators (yes). Front desk, doormen and concierge always there With a smile anxious to please. Perfect location, great accommodations

The Pierre is a fabulous hotel which combines the best of old and new world. The place has lots of understated elegance with a group of superior, friendly staff in all departments. We particularly love the folks at Perrine for breakfast and the elevator operators who find a way to make each interaction so specia.

Thanks to Sixth Star Travel we obtained our desired room and a good deal at our preferred hotel. The new front desk manager was better and all the people we usually see during our stay are still there and as friendly and helpful as can be. Kudos to Kaydy, and Massimo and Carmine for outstanding service at Breakfasts!!!

The Pierre was so comfortable and welcoming! Every reservation we requested they were able to secure. Couldn’t have been more impressed with their staff and accommodations!

The Pierre is an upscale hotel who does everything so well in a low key way. Their people are so nice and responsive whether front desk, porter, elevator people or team at Perrine the restaurant. And the rooms are comfortable and lovely appointed. Our first choice every time we visit NYC

Beautiful hotel, excellent service by the hotel staff from door men to front desk to restaurant staff. Cake in the room was a surprise touch, really appreciated the gesture. The breakfast at Perrine was out of the world. Thank you a memorable stay at Pierre

We loved staying at the Pierre. The staff goes out of their way to make guests feel welcome and valued. The hotel breakfast was delicious and had an attractive presentation. It's situated in a great neighborhood with good restaurants and right across from Central Park. The only thing we did not like was our bathroom- it was very small and there was no room to place personal items in there besides 2 small glass shelves right over the toilet-which we did not use. The toilet was right up the bathroom door and there was not much room to move around. The room itself was small but adequate. We had asked for an upgrade at check in-but they said there were none available. Our room was low down and did not have any view.

We absolutely adore this hotel! The staff was professional, friendly, and helpful in every way. Our room was kept immaculately. Very nice linens on the bed. We enjoyed every minute.

The Pierre is elegant and well-located across from Central Park. We were within walking distance of the attractions we wanted, and we liked being removed from the midtown chaos. We requested a quiet room and were happily tucked in a corner with an interior view. Our room was peaceful, immaculate and elegant. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the linens were high quality. Most of the staff were kind and gracious, especially the elevator attendants and doormen. We ate breakfast in the Perrine on-site restaurant each day, and it was just so-so. The furnishings are upscale but the food was not especially flavorful, inventive or fresh. We preferred dining outside of the hotel. Also, several of the restaurant servers seemed agitated with each other and brusque with us.

Pierre was great as always.

We enjoyed the Pierre. The only negative was that we needed two beds and they only had two twins rather than two queens or at least two full beds.
