Maybe you want to feel the tug on your line and the splash from the River Nore as a salmon takes your bait. And have you ever felt the singular rush of an arrow flying forth from your bow or a falcon swooping down to land at your command? We offer a unique range of activities on the estate, unparalleled in the way they combine deep-seated historical traditions with the best modern equipment.

Like coming home

Mount Juliet, with its beautiful rolling hills, thoroughbreds on pastureland; warm, welcoming staff with unaffected country style and impeccable taste; was the perfect respite for travelers in search of peace and tranquility. It was like coming home.
Our room "The Black Pearl", located in the Manor House (delightful), was overlooking verdant pastures where mares and foals grazed. (The thoroughbred race horse history for this property deeply resonated with this traveler.) The River Nore and exquisite English gardens grace this property with natural and transformed beauty unparalleled.
The food was fresh, flavorful; created with exceptional care. Our falconry experience with John, a nationally respected falconer, was educational and beyond our expectations. Des gave us a delight informative historic property. We took advantage of the fly fishing and equestrian experiences. Sigh.
It was our first stop in Ireland and we are certain the best place we possibly could have landed.

First Impression: Grounds and surrounding area are breathtaking.
Second Impression: Hotel is badly in need of renovation and/or reconstruction. Upon arrival we discovered that all the nice rooms are on the second or third floor. There are no elevators. To reach the second floor requires climbing 29 steps. This becomes tedious when done several times per day.
Third Impression: Antiquated room, no A/C, doors that do not shut, bathroom door that has large gaps all the way around the frame. The room is generally run down. Because of lack of A/C, would not advise a summer stay.
Fourth Impression: Air quality, owing to the fireplaces used on ground floor for heat, was very poor. The smoke permeated our room on the second floor.
Staff: Although friendly, not awfully attentive. We had to wait for a ride to our dinner reservation until a staff member 'finished his break'.
Overall: Grounds and activities are 5 star. Hotel facility, rooms, etc. are 2 star at best.
