The amenities are lovely and the staff quite helpful, but during the holidays at least it is crowded.

Great way to finish our vacation!

We only stayed one night as we were coming back through San Juan returning from the BVI. From the time we checked in, we were treated with the best service I could have asked for. The entire staff was friendly and you genually felt like they were glad to have you. I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in San Juan. My wife has family in Puerto Rico and I'm sure we will get the pleasure of staying here again in the future.

Beautiful, and superb service

Hotel is beautiful. Very nice pool and beachfront. Monday through Thursday it was easy to find seats at the pool and get reservations at restaurants, but we noticed Friday that it got much more crowded -- the weekend is likely the same. We enjoyed several of the restaurants on-site (BLT Steak, Ocean Bar, Lobby Lounge) and also went to Old San Juan for one of the best meals we've ever had at Marmalade, on the concierge's recommendation. The Ritz property was amazing and the service was unbelievable. We spent most days on the beach but opted for an ATV tour at Campo Rico one day (organized by the Tour Planner at the Ritz), which was quite an adventure.

We had a great long weekend at the Ritz. The service was great, and the location was fantastic for a quick long weekend - it is super close to the airport.

Ritz San Juan

Likes: wonderful restaurant/bars, helpful and friendly staff, beautiful setting, convenient proximity to airport. Rooms: Hotel is dated (lobby is renovated); the rooms are nice, but no modern upgrades, just a comfortable room. We were upgraded for a relatively nominal fee (less than prices online). Dislikes: quite a hike to Old San Juan, the beach/pool experience & the concierge staff. Beach/Pool: towels are old, thin, & stained, beach chairs & umbrellas are cheap & way below "Ritz" level, too few chairs & tables, and the staff is too thin. The hotel was not at capacity and still too few chairs--made for a frantic/hectic experience to get situated at beach/pool. Most people are going there for the beach, so it should be a top notch experience. Concierge was not helpful in the least (wouldn't write down names of places, didn't call to cancel a reservation when we asked, etc.). I would still stay again b/c it's a quick flight, great staff, & lovely setting with good restaurants.
