Beautiful, inviting, relaxing, wonderful staff

This resort is enormous - sprawling and as a result quiet and secluded in many parts. It is also beautifully maintained. The resort has a lot of history, which has been preserved while also ensuring all modern amenities have been added. The staff are friendly and helpful to a person. The spa is big and inviting and very easy to work with - we just popped in and made massage reservations on a Saturday with no problem. There are dozens of small pools, which means that they are quiet, pristine, and not crowded. There is also a larger pool with a bar for a different experience. The surroundings and landscaping are absolutely gorgeous. Great breakfast buffet - tons of fresh cut fruit and pretty much anything else you could want.

Old hotel but great location

Reviewed on: 16 Mar 2018

Hotel is old and even though the rooms have been refurbished, equipment can fail (our air conditioning system failed at night). Service is mediocre (we had to ask for slippers, shower cap and a shoe horn and turn-down service did not exist). Food is mediocre and too many rooms make everything crowded with potentially long waits for service. Many tennis courts (including some clay courts), which makes the place attractive to tennis enthusiasts. Proximity to great golf courses. We went there for the tennis tournament at Indian Wells and the hotel provided a free shuttle to the venue. We had three treatments at the Spa....the Spa is old and does not compare to Spas in better hotels. Overall a 5 or 6 out of a max 10 rating.

Ideal for a less expensive wellness retreat

By: Tracy

Reviewed on: 15 Apr 2018

I loved La Quinta for it's beautiful grounds, great location, and mostly, options for activities and exercise. If you want the activities of a wellness retreat, but don't want to spend the money for Canyon Ranch, this fit perfectly. It had hiking trails nearby, running loops mapped out from the concierge, and fitness classes included. Plus golf, tennis, lap swimming, and of course pools everywhere. I loved it.

The Old California

By: Vicki

Reviewed on: 14 Mar 2019

The La Quinta Resort is a beautiful property that takes you back in time to Old California in its architecture. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are charming and the restaurants are excellent. Even when the hotel is at full capacity you never feel overwhelmed. A perfect getaway so close by.
