    Sustainability

    Our Commitment

Located on an UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a Green Globe Certification, Ladera is committed to luxury, unsurpassed guest service and environmental and community sustainability. Under the guidance of GM, Christian Gandara, the staff is empowered to move forward with their passions to create progress in these areas.

Farm-to-Table Dasheene features International Cuisine infused with St. Lucian Spices, using products grown on local farms, including fresh seafood caught from the nearby waters, comprising 70% of what is made in the kitchen.

Most of the fruit and spices used are grown onsite. The Head Gardner conducts educational garden tours to experience farm-to-table and conserving the whole product.

“Ladera Green Team,” has planted trees at a local school and donated to local charities and food banks.

The master craftsman use St Lucian wood, tiles and stones to build the furniture, showers, walls, and cabinets onsite. Guests tour the Carpentry Shop to learn how they create sustainability.

Eliminated 85,000 plastic water bottles and plastic straws and promotes re-usable items with food service. The gift shop sells sustainable, fair trade products. All cleaning products are from Ecolab.

Conserving water and energy are everyday best practices including the rain harvesting program and the installing of water solar heaters for hot water in the kitchen.

The Ladera Hike teaches about local plants and birds and the importance of being on an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
