Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

Full of romance and history, the luxurious Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is just a short walk from Hoan Kiem Lake and the Hanoi Old Quarter. A favorite of discerning travelers, the hotel gracefully blends French elegance and Vietnamese hospitality in the 364 guestrooms and suites, the beautiful public areas and the award-winning Le Spa du Metropole. Dine at Le Beaulieu (French), at Spices Garden (Vietnamese) or at Angelina (innovative Italian), or simply enjoy Le Club’s old-world atmosphere and frequent jazz performances. Also a must is the infamous Bamboo Bar or a unique Path of History tour conducted by accredited historians.

Hotel Tip

The spa is unbelievably well-staffed, accommodating and open late at night. There is no better jet lag cure than a 9 p.m. massage. –Louisa Gehring Cincinnati, Ohio

The Sofitel Legend Metropole is an exceptional hotel. We were able to get an upgrade to a lovely room through Virtuoso. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially Dan at the travel desk. Great massages, wonderfully relaxing Bamboo Bar and terrific Asian buffet. We were very happy with our first hotel in Vietnam. We felt like it was a home away from home.

I can't think of a better place to stay while visiting Hanoi! We loved staying in the Opera Wing, but thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the Garden Wing as well. The location was perfect, with lovely places to walk and see the beautiful building and shops that Hanoi has to offer. Hoan Kiem Lake was just around the corner and it was a treat to watch the locals do tai chi and all varieties of dances to start their morning! Our room was exquisite and we truly appreciated the lovely extra touches that we were given to celebrate our anniversary and birthday! I can think of no better place to stay while visiting Hanoi.

Older Hotel in need of an update

The Metropole is an older hotel that is in need of modernization. The service was excellent but the room itself was on the small side and not very modern. The location is excellent as it is walking distance to many places downtown.

Very nice hotel , great location and we enjoyed walking around Hanoi and got across the streets without losing life and limb . The puppet show could be skipped but the hotel had a bomb shelter which Joan Baez visited and used . Fascinating !!
