Sustainability
Our Commitment
In the corporate strategy of the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, responsibility towards guests and employees, the sustainable use of natural resources, as well as social and local commitment are firmly anchored. The thermal water is of central importance for the world-class spa resort of Bad Ragaz. Since 1840, the 36.5° thermal water has flowed from its source in the Tamina Gorge over a distance of four and a half kilometers to Bad Ragaz and ensures that the residents and guests are adequately supplied. A conscientious approach and the sensible use of natural resources are essential for the resort.
Our successes at a glance:
- Heating oil consumption has been reduced by 95% since 2012 from 1,000,000 to 50,000 liters
- 50% of the water consumption flows back into our own system
- 90% less energy consumption due to the use of modern LED lamps
- The kitchen crew reduces bread waste by 10% by baking fresh bread five times instead of four times a day
- 1,500 PET bottles are saved per month through reusable cups
- 52,000 sheets of paper are saved annually by switching to electronic medical records at the medical center
We are also a partner of the initiative "Cause We Care" of the Swiss foundation myclimate promoting climate protection locally and globally. With our charity project For Smiling Children®, we have been supporting children and young people in Africa since 2009, together with our guests, to give them access to education and clean drinking water.
