The perfect balance...

Ashford Castle has the perfect balance between 5 star luxury and country charm. Some of the reviews I read before I got there made me think I might encounter a lot of snooty, uptight people but instead my family and I were received by some of the nicest people I think I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Not only is Ashford Castle beautiful but they have figured out what my old Irish granny told me long ago, "pretty is as pretty does". Everyone that works at Ashford treats you like a long lost family member so beyond being a beautiful place, the people there just exude beauty from within! I simply cannot say enough nice things about Ashford except that I am truly thankful to the Tollman family for creating such an amazing place and letting my family enjoy one of the best family vacations we've had in years. I am already planning my next visit.

Ashford Castle is a favorite destination of our family. It has recently been renovated by Red Carnation Hotel Collection and is better than ever! In 2015, it won the Virtuoso Award as the Best Hotel of the Year! The staff is genuinely friendly, the rooms are exquisitely decorated, and the grounds are extraordinarily beautiful. It offers a wide variety of activities for all ages including golf, archery, falconry, boating, hiking, horseback riding, and spa. Our family also enjoyed the 4 restaurants and live musical entertainment every evening. Ashford Castle was the highlight of our heritage vacation in Ireland!

Ashford Castle is a very special place; I recommend reading about its' rich history. We stayed in The Lodge at Ashford Castle, which gives you access to the Castle grounds. Be aware you cannot go inside the castle itself unless you are actually staying there. The surrounding grounds and neighboring village are great
