Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The property was great. We enjoyed the restaurants - Bourbon Steak and La Hacienda. The spa services we received were great, but over-priced relative to other spas we have experienced at resorts. We did have two experiences with customer service that were disappointing. The first was upon initially entering one of our rooms, our daughter stepped on a fish hook in the carpet. While she was not injured, it could have been much worse. We were unable to get the hook from the carpet, so we called maintenance. They sent someone to remove the hook, but we did not receive any follow up from management to ensure our daughter was ok, to apologize, etc. The second occurred when ordering a drink from the bar. The bartender raised an entry in the bar to go behind it and accidentally spilled a glass of water which caused the glass to break on the bar and I was showered with water and debris. No injury and the bartender apologized, but then proceeded to charge me for the drink I ordered.

Good except for checking in with 2 mile car waiting line to get in. Had to sneak around car line to avoid 2-3 hour line to get in. Resort should establish separate entry for overnight guests versus Christmas event guests

Can't blame the resort for bad weather

By: Grandma1120

Reviewed on: 06 Mar 2019

We had the worst weather imaginable in Arizona in February -- average temperature was in the mid-forties, and it rained and sleeted every day. So it was not an ideal time to stay at an open air resort where the focus is on outdoor activities. Notwithstanding, the Fairmont has one of the nicest most accommodating staffs we have ever encountered. Everyone bent over backward to make us comfortable. The food at the restaurants was excellent too, as was the service. Two small nits: They need more casual options for dining, especially for families with young children. And, they need more housekeeping help. Our room was not ever made up until late in the afternoon.

This resort is BEAUTIFUL. The property is immaculate and serene. The staff is top notch - not overly eager, but always there to care for their guests. We had a great time relaxing at the Sunset Beach pool and really enjoyed all the family activities at Area 51. Our seven year old son loved the water slides too. The Fairmont Princess gave us the perfect mix of relaxing downtime and family fun. I highly recommend it for traveling with younger children.

Christmas at the Princess exceeded expectations!

By: Kate

Reviewed on: 03 Jan 2025

Our family was traveling for a pre-christmas trip with toddlers. It can be hard to find somewhere to go that will be fun for them, and also still a vacation for the adults. Christmas at the Princess was the perfect fit! We stayed at the Privado suites, which were lovely, and had VIP access to all of the Christmas festivities (which was a huge bonus!). All of the pools were open and heated and in the evening there were so many things to do and see for our toddler niece. The most unexpected part was the food at the Princess. The restaurants on site were all EXCELLENT. We stay at Fairmonts fairly often, and the food is always good, but usually not great. The food at the Princess was stellar - even the included breakfast at Ironwood was great. It rivaled some of the best brunch places I have ever been to.
