Hotel Tip
Choose a riverfront villa for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s massive, has its own lily pond and plunge pool. –Maria Paradisis Sydney, New South WalesVirtuoso Preferred Supplier Since 01 Jan 1997

Sustainability
Our Commitment
- Minimal plastic waste eg. Our own water purification plant to supply all drinking water at the resorts, replacing local suppliers; reusable glass mineral water bottles in guest rooms; a ban on plastic straws in all dining outlets at both resorts; fabric laundry bags etc.
- Local & organic purchasing: When purchasing, the company directs staff to give priority to local, Fairtrade and organic suppliers. Eg, Sayan uses organic sea salt from a social cooperative in North Bali, and uses only sustainable coconut oil for cooking. The oil is sourced from a local family which grows the coconuts and makes the oil at home, with zero waste traditional methods. The coconut husks are used as fuel for cooking, and Sokasi Chef’s Table dinner includes fish marinated in klengsih, a rare ingredient which is a by-product of the coconut oil production.
- Recycling used cooking oil to manufacture biofuel, in collaboration with Lengis Hijau to reduce carbon emissions.
- Permaculture: 1 hectare of vegetable and herb gardens located within Sayan resort. More than 25 varieties of vegetables, herbs, spices and fruits for cooking class. On-site ricefields at Sayan harvest more than 4 tonnes of rice per year which is provided to the local community.
