84% of waste is diverted away from landfills including recyclables, wet food waste (which is collected and composted) and trash. All items are separated on-site. Additional waste management tactics include:
Reducing Single-Use Plastic
The resort reduces single-use plastic within the guestrooms and bathrooms, through:
- Eliminating single-use shampoo, conditioner and hand and body wash and transitioning to bulk container refillable Gloss Moderne products
- Providing new bamboo toothbrushes and wooden combs
- Ensuring refillable water stations are located in each guestroom corridor, front drive, fitness center and near Mosaic Bar and Grille. For meetings and events, plastic water bottles have been replaced with complimentary water stations with glass cups.
Copia Food Donation Program
Surplus food is donated to nonprofits to reduce waste, support the environment and local communities.
